Oh god, hon, that is just not right. My mom will do that sometimes, say things and she thinks they're little or that i'll forget because she's just tired but what i don't think she understands is that when a parent says something like that to you, it's imprinted in your brain and it just echoes there. I'm so sorry honey. You are amazing, AMAZING, and nothing but an absolute asset to this community and a joy to read about.

I've learned that the truth is you know better. You always hope for more because she is your mom and that isn't what moms are supposed to do. Moms are supposed to love their kids and want them around and think their life is better because of their kids. I am sorry and you know what, I doubt she means what she says, but you know you aren't a waste, you aren't useless.
