Various Things:

1. I dislike calling in sick to work. Correction: I dislike disappointing people. But I've been coughing for the last two days (which were my days off) and I sound like I've spent the last forty years smoking, so really, drive-through is kinda out. Plus, the horrid cough just might put people off their food.

2. VividCon-ish people that I am rooming with (_par_avion and annavtree), you should probably know that greensilver (who was a last-minute addition from the wait list and yay for her!) asked her flist for room-age 18th-20th and I offered. I've had her on my flist ages, wonderful person, great sense of humor. SG-1 fan.

3. I have seen the first series (and part of the second) of Red Dwarf. And was exceedingly amused and (at points) pretty touched. Because it's very silly, but Lister has a pretty good heart. He and Rimmer become closer over time, yeah? Because you can really see him feeling empathy for Rimmer, who starts out as a very shallow, petty, and insecure person (with a really nice ass).

4. For the last few days, my internet access has been very limited, hence my only posting story bits, which I deemed of vital importance. Now that I'm back on as normal, I expect my usual style to resume.

5. Stargate's new seasons start next week! Isn't that fabulous? It is. Very much. And I'm really looking forward to seeing the second season of Battlestar Galatica.

6. Have recently discovered that Ewan McGregor is the only actor that I've gone to a film for. I've always had additional reasons in other cases. But with Ewan, he just needs to be in a movie and I'll decide it's worth seeing.

7. I think that I may go back to sleep now.

Young Adam

Ewan (or his agent, or whoever) has a really good eye for scripts. His ratio of quality to crap is much higher than most actors, I've noticed.

Perhaps part of that is because he doesn't worry about his image, so he takes the roles that appeal to him, when other actors might balk because of external concerns. He's certainly taken his clothes off more than any other mainstream actor that I can think of. Of course, it probably helps that he looks very nice naked.

Lovely, twisty movie. Very nice to look at, though any movie with Ewan in it automatically has something nice to look at in it.
