1. I dislike calling in sick to work. Correction: I dislike disappointing people. But I've been coughing for the last two days (which were my days off) and I sound like I've spent the last forty years smoking, so really, drive-through is kinda out. Plus, the horrid cough just might put people off their food.

2. VividCon-ish people that I am rooming with ([livejournal.com profile] _par_avion and [livejournal.com profile] annavtree), you should probably know that [livejournal.com profile] greensilver (who was a last-minute addition from the wait list and yay for her!) asked her flist for room-age 18th-20th and I offered. I've had her on my flist ages, wonderful person, great sense of humor. SG-1 fan.

3. I have seen the first series (and part of the second) of Red Dwarf. And was exceedingly amused and (at points) pretty touched. Because it's very silly, but Lister has a pretty good heart. He and Rimmer become closer over time, yeah? Because you can really see him feeling empathy for Rimmer, who starts out as a very shallow, petty, and insecure person (with a really nice ass).

4. For the last few days, my internet access has been very limited, hence my only posting story bits, which I deemed of vital importance. Now that I'm back on as normal, I expect my usual style to resume.

5. Stargate's new seasons start next week! Isn't that fabulous? It is. Very much. And I'm really looking forward to seeing the second season of Battlestar Galatica.

6. Have recently discovered that Ewan McGregor is the only actor that I've gone to a film for. I've always had additional reasons in other cases. But with Ewan, he just needs to be in a movie and I'll decide it's worth seeing.

7. I think that I may go back to sleep now.

[livejournal.com profile] _par_avion is one of your roommates? Neat! We met at Escapade, and she can (hopefully) testify that I'm reasonably sane. Though, mostly we talked about extremely unlikely crossover pairings with Starbuck, so maybe my sanity is still in doubt. *g*

I love how it tells you that you have to fix the error manually when there is absolutely no way to do that in a comment. Ah, logic.

I'm so very looking forward to VividCon. I'm actually going to understand what people are saying this time around!

It was a fun conversation. Glad to hear you made it off the wait list!

(And I have never understood why it's lj-cut but lj user. It's inconsistent!)

yes. sleep more.

Maybe I'll watch an episode from later in the series, see if it still hits my saturation point as rapidly.

Did you call in already?

You should watch Thanks for the Memory -- it's Rimmer's deathday, and they're nice to each other. You can really see why Rimmer's so fucked-up and that Lister cares about him, probably because he's also getting to learn why Rimmer's so fucked up (the final episode of Series One is good for that, too, because we get to see that Rimmer is just as nasty and horrible to himself as he is to Lister).

Red Dwarf is just great.
Thanks for the Memory is my favourite episode, but there's plenty more good stuff to come.

The more the better. Especially since my budget for this whole thing (not including registration but including hotel and transportation and food) is $150. So, yeah! As long as she doesn't sacrifice goats* in the hotel room, it's fine with me.

*or any mammal really, including...um...me. ;)

No mammal sacrifices, honest. No animal sacrifices, for that matter. Nothing with vertebrae. Invertebrates are fair game though, right? I'm allowed to sacrifice spiders if I see them? *g*

Freak, freak, freak! I can't believe you conned these poor people into rooming with you.

(So glad you made it off the list and into the con. See y'all soon!)

Go for it. I try to do that whole cup and piece of paper thing but that's hard to do when the windows are sealed as they are in a hotel room.
