I've loved Dave and Tracy's music for years. I only got to see them perform three times before Dave's death, but each time was incredibly memorable. They started out adorable music dorks and got polished up along the way, but never lost that honest glow of love for the music.

I've wanted to vid them since I first learned what vidding was, but I could never find the right fandom. I was thrilled to bits by the recent LotR vids to their music, but that wasn't the right fandom for me to put them in. And then I saw The Dead Zone, and I found a home for one of my favorite songs in existence.

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza, for getting me interested in the show. And many thanks for [livejournal.com profile] _par_avion for her loan of her dvds of the show (and for hosting my vids on her site). I wouldn't have been able to do this if I'd been netflixing the show.

Thank you. And I was just so incredibly thrilled when I was watching tDZ and realized that here was finally a kind of love that was complicated and messy and wonderful enough to fit the song.

I wish I could see the vid. Am unfortunately on dial-up and even if I had the patience to wait several days for it to DL, yousendit doesn't let me DL anything. BUT, I just wanted to say it is SO NICE to see that someone else is familiar with Dave & Tracy. I can't even get any of my friends to listen to them, because they're style is ... too southern for people? I have no idea. But, yay. Dave & Tracy are the best.

They really are. My mom is the person who first introduced me to their music, back when they only had one CD out. They just really did work so wonderfully well together.

Thank you! I was really hoping that you'd like it.

I really love the way the Johnny/Walt relationship has progressed over time (I remember being so thrilled when Walt just gave him a huge hug at the end of Plague). I pretty much devoured the first three seasons and kept wanting more at the end of every episode, but not at all in the bad 'that felt unfinished' way.

I am so glad I did!

Thank you so much. And it's really nice to know that the vid still works if you don't know the fandom.

Thank you.

It's definitely one of the parts of the show that has captured my attention. I mean, I came into the show inclined to like Sarah (because she's Dax!) but I was not expecting to actively root for the show to get up the courage to put them in a real threesome relationship. But I totally want all three of them together, because I do think it could work out. I just want all three of them to be as happy as possible.

Here from [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza's rec. I haven't watched DZ in a while (I think late first or early second season?), but your vid reminded me again why I liked what I've seen of this show, and beautifully highlighted how difficult and sometimes painful this relationship triangle is for them. Thanks for sharing your vid.

This vid was so pretty. Did you do anything with the colors or intensity because I don't remember TDZ having quite that romantic intensity to its color. (Does that make any sense?)

Thank you.

And you are absolutely correct, I did brighten and then intensify the colors. I firmly believe that television color is almost never intense enough (but television has other things, like dialogue and more time to play with, so visual intensity isn't as important).

I started messing with brightness and contrast the second that I got Adobe Premiere. TDZ didn't need as much brightening up as Angel does (now there's a dark show), but I definitely did some work on the colors. I also did a lot of additive dissolves in this vid, as opposed to straight cross dissolves.

I am unfamiliar with the artists but this was a lovely song. The Walt/Sarah/John triangle was such an intregal part of seasons 1-3 of TDZ. This was a perfect choice to portray it. I liked the moments you chose and your editing was beautiful. Some wonderful layering and fades to fit the words.

Thank you for sharing. I really hope you will do other DZ videos.

This vid was wonderfully done. I've seen many DZ vids, and this is by far one of my favorites. I, too, love the Walt/Johnny relationship and how it's progressed from one of suspicion and competition to one of true friendship.

And that is a great song. I'd never heard it before, but it's beautiful, and you've got me checking out others by those artists. I've heard some songs I'd love to turn into vids but I'm just not talented in that domain.

I hope to see more in this fandom from you, because this was incredibly done.

The Walt/Johnny relationship has been very impressively complex. They're just really come to respect and know each other quite well, which is just neat.
