I've loved Dave and Tracy's music for years. I only got to see them perform three times before Dave's death, but each time was incredibly memorable. They started out adorable music dorks and got polished up along the way, but never lost that honest glow of love for the music.
I've wanted to vid them since I first learned what vidding was, but I could never find the right fandom. I was thrilled to bits by the recent LotR vids to their music, but that wasn't the right fandom for me to put them in. And then I saw The Dead Zone, and I found a home for one of my favorite songs in existence.
Thank you,
cesperanza, for getting me interested in the show. And many thanks for
_par_avion for her loan of her dvds of the show (and for hosting my vids on her site). I wouldn't have been able to do this if I'd been netflixing the show.

Date: 2005-11-01 10:33 pm (UTC)I really love the way the Johnny/Walt relationship has progressed over time (I remember being so thrilled when Walt just gave him a huge hug at the end of Plague). I pretty much devoured the first three seasons and kept wanting more at the end of every episode, but not at all in the bad 'that felt unfinished' way.

You did a wonderful job matching the lyrics to the images, the whole thing was beautifully done.

Date: 2005-11-01 10:39 pm (UTC)It's definitely one of the parts of the show that has captured my attention. I mean, I came into the show inclined to like Sarah (because she's Dax!) but I was not expecting to actively root for the show to get up the courage to put them in a real threesome relationship. But I totally want all three of them together, because I do think it could work out. I just want all three of them to be as happy as possible.

Date: 2005-11-03 08:01 am (UTC)And you are absolutely correct, I did brighten and then intensify the colors. I firmly believe that television color is almost never intense enough (but television has other things, like dialogue and more time to play with, so visual intensity isn't as important).
I started messing with brightness and contrast the second that I got Adobe Premiere. TDZ didn't need as much brightening up as Angel does (now there's a dark show), but I definitely did some work on the colors. I also did a lot of additive dissolves in this vid, as opposed to straight cross dissolves.

Date: 2005-11-03 08:02 am (UTC)TDZ is a really good show, with a lot of great visuals, so there's a good chance it'll keep inspiring me.

Date: 2005-11-03 06:32 am (UTC)And that is a great song. I'd never heard it before, but it's beautiful, and you've got me checking out others by those artists. I've heard some songs I'd love to turn into vids but I'm just not talented in that domain.
I hope to see more in this fandom from you, because this was incredibly done.

Date: 2005-11-03 08:05 am (UTC)The Walt/Johnny relationship has been very impressively complex. They're just really come to respect and know each other quite well, which is just neat.

Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer made a wonderful team.
I hope to see more in this fandom from you, because this was incredibly done.
Thank you, again. It's a really great show.

I vid myself and I feel like I should do a proper good concrit on it but that would make me put off forever feedbacking. So I decided to just cop out and tell you that I really really like it.
Johnny, Walt and Sarah in their tangled and oh so compelling triangle of a relationship.

It's definitely one of the highlights of the show for me.
Long overdue
Date: 2006-01-23 02:45 am (UTC)I (as many others, I think) followed a rec to this. I've never seen an episode of DZ (have read a few fics, though), but man did I like this vid. It's gorgeous, multilayered and complex and clever - and just something on my hard drive that I still find mysef returning to. T

Date: 2006-03-21 02:59 pm (UTC)I've only seen a couple of eps of DZ so I'm positive I'm missing tons of subtext and otherwise... the song, on the other hand, is one of my favorites as I've loved Dave & Tracy for years now, is just perfect and clearly illuminates the subject of your vid.... a tribute to your talent and to Dave's.
(I miss his presence so much but am glad to continue to see/hear Tracy)
