butterflyIn a way. I fastforwarded past anything that I remembered being boring. Anyway, I was surprised that I didn't hate Dawson this time around. Granted, some of that may have to do with prudent skipping, but I watched his worst moments in S3 and... just felt sorry for him. Maybe it's because I know that Pacey and Joey get to move forward in the end, while Dawson seems to remain trapped in his past, forever trying to get the whole 'Joey thing' right in his head.
And it occurs to me that the story isn't about damaged and hurt people who are friends with 'perfect' Dawson, an idea that has pissed me off in the past, but about a group of damaged people. And the difference between now and then? Actually, it was reading Harry Potter. You know who Dawson reminds me of? Dudley.
Being spoiled can ruin a child just as surely as neglect or abuse.
Also, I like the theme song that's used on the dvds. I've never gotten how Paula Cole's theme had anything to do with the people on DC. It made no sense.
My adoration for P/J remains utterly intact. And may have even grown. I absolutely adore both Joey and Pacey, even more so when they're in a scene together.
