Birds and Bees may be gay: museum exhibit

Geir Soeli, the project leader of the exhibition entitled "Against Nature," told Reuters: "Homosexuality has been observed for more than 1,500 animal species, and is well documented for 500 of them."

Also, on a different note, Supernatural should totally have a Jossverse alum in the third episode of every season. One more year, it'll be a pattern!

One radical Christian said organizers of the exhibition -- partly funded by the Norwegian government -- should "burn in hell," Soeli said. Laws describing homosexuality as a "crime against nature" are still on the statutes in some countries.

1. Apparently homosexuality isn't a crime against nature since this exhibit proves it is common.

2. "Burn in hell" doesn't exactly sound very Christian to me.

I have a sneaking suspicion they said that the organizers *will* burn in hell, not that they *should*. Or that they meant that, allowing for translation/second language problems. Or not, and and we can all cheerfully roll our eyes at them.

Indeed. It's a crime in some cultures. It actually does make sense that the taboo against homosexuality would develop in a less-populated world -- you want to encourage population growth. But that's got nothing to do with morality -- it's all about practicality. Beating your enemies by numbers.
