I should go to sleep soon.

Later today, I'm going to be delaying my personal viewing of Sci-Fi Friday because I'm going to the Oregon Zoo with my mom to see Dar Williams perform. I'm very much looking forward to it -- I've grown quite fond of her music in a fairly short amount of time. I've already vidded two of her songs and may do others later.

I finished the first season of Boston Legal and was quite disappointed that there were only seventeen episodes. I wanted more!

I also watched the premiere of Eureka (finally) and... I like it, though I'm not sure we needed yet another rogue-ish hero sort named Jack.

Watched the Sci-Fi showing of Dead Like Me, and, wow, I like George so much more after she's dead.

Also, based on a brief exposure, I feel that I totally understand why Joss went for Morena Baccarin over Rebecca Gayheart (that is who the chick with the curly hair is, yes? Unless it's the other one. Roxie? Who I liked more. Hmm.).

Maybe her character will grow on me.

But S2 has 27 eps!!! (I'm halfwayish through that). However, they rejiggered it weirdly, from my PoV -- all the main characters stay the same, of course, but that's apparently the reason S1 was cut short. Five eps were reworked and shoved over into S2. For my book, the changes are entirely for the worse, but the Alan&Denny show remains strong and fabulous!

And I had the same thought about another Jack. *g*

Rebecca Gayheart played Betty, the blonde -- Roxie is played by Jasmine Guy. I was very fond of Betty, but I think Morena Baccarin was a much better choice for Joss.

And Georgie is a rather young nineteen, self-absorbed, whiny -- I'm startled by all the people deciding within an ep or so to drop the show because they don't like her, because that's just her starting place. I mean, they may still not like her later, I don't know, but the whole show is about how her life changes and how she reacts to that after she dies...

I'll keep both of those things in mind when the second season comes out on dvd. Oh! Do they keep that cute new attorney? Chelina? I've really liked her in these past couple of episodes.

It does seem pretty clear that there's an intent for a character arc there.

It was lots of fun!

She did, indeed, talk about some of her stuff, though not extensively. The One Who Knows was the first song that she wrote after her son was born. Christians and Pagans was based on an actual holiday dinner that her extended family. Stuff like that. I have a horrible memory, though, so details (sadly) escape me.

I suspected as much about The One Who Knows; the album it's on (The Beauty of the Rain) was released around the time of the birth of her son, and it's just so... mother-ish, the whole thing. I think "Closer to Me" must have been inspired by him too. ^_~

Yeah, I said the same thing about Jack. Why do we need another Jack? Then someone pointed out to me that his last name is Carter, which is even more annoying. It's like they're trying to trick the SG-1 fans into watching or something. Very weird. I like the show otherwise though, so I'm just going to ignore it.

My roommate and I decided that he's the alternate universe lovechild of yet another alternate universe Sam and Jack pairing. He's sarcastic enough, judging from what I've seen so far.
