Doctor Who: regarding a Drums one-liner

So, the question has been asked -- how does the Doctor know what it feels like 'when you fancy someone and they don't even know you exist'? When did he experience that emotion?
Well, from The Doctor Dances we have this:
Rose: "Okay, so he's vanished into thin air. Why is it always the great looking ones who do that?"
Doctor: "I'm making an effort not to be insulted."
Rose: "I mean... men."
Doctor: "Okay, thanks, that really helps!"
He was probably feeling just like he was wearing a perception filter at that moment in time -- there he was, pining his heart out, and he didn't even register as a 'man' to her. Then he dances with her and pulls out all the stops... and she still goes off with Mickey in Boomtown.

I love more and more now that we basically had this entire season where the Doctor was going: "Me! Notice me! Me! Me! Me!" For all that people are always falling for the Doctor, it's so lovely that one little 19-year-old shop girl put him on the other side of it for once.
Exactly -- he gets to experience just what he's made people feel, time and time again.
And also... I love that so much of that S1 insecurity was gone by S2. In retrospect, so much of S2 just feels like one big honeymoon.
It really does. They were both so happy and together
*misses Rose, too*
