So, yes, he has a soul.

To me, this means a lot. I may come to like him, if he's a good person. We'll have to wait and see, I suppose.

Do I have any desire for Buffy to fall in love with him now? Definitely not, but now my reasons are different and not as inflexible. He can be good now. But that shouldn't mean that anyone forgets what happened and I hope that they don't. The same drive that took him to Africa(?) also took him to Buffy's bathroom and we have yet to learn the quality of the man.

Plus, major B/X shipper still.

I don't want souled!Spike and Buffy to hook up romantically either. It would be like Buffy suddenly falling in love with Angelus during Season 2 -- they're not the same person.(I may have liked it in fanfic, but I'd scoff if it actually occurred in cannon) She was attracted to/had an odd understanding with unsouled!Spike. She doesn't KNOW this guy.

but. like. awwww... if Spike ends up acting all William-y, sappy me would want Buffy and him to become friends and bond and stuff.

arg! see. um. you completely lose me there. Sorry. I'm extremely anti-Willow/Spike. SO much unspeakably awful fanfiction for them. It ruined the pairing for me forever. I'd probably never watch the show again. I couldn't handle it. (And. like, dude! If they pair Willow up with someone next year, I'll be furious. Her girlfriend of 2 years was just brutally murdered right in front of her. That takes a long time to recover from. Not to mention the whole tried-to-end-the-world thing.)

Yes, that would EXACTLY explain why the idea appeals to you. Trust me, in practice it's a scary scary thing. Think of the worst JC/Justin fic you've ever read, and then make Justin even MORE perfect and stunningly beautiful and worthy of being worshipped... and you have Willow/Spike fic. I honestly don't believe that I've ever in my life read one fic for them that didn't come out bad. And I've read a LOT. [clutches at your legs and whimpers at the memories]

YES! (!!) Oftentimes even worse. And there are just epics and fics after fic after fic like that. It never ENDS. [cries]
