If a theoretical person, let's just call her Dee, right. Dee hasn't a had period in a few months. And she knows that she can't be pregnant, because Dee's a virgin.

Anyway, at what point should Dee start worrying?

(Yes, I'm totally Dee. It's my first initial.)

But yeah. 'Cause I know that it's at least been since before Christmas. Which is a while ago.

I keep thinking that I should mention it to someone. But then they'll ask when my last period was and I'll be all, "I have no clue." And it'll annoy them.

Meh.

I would definitely go to the doctor as soon as possible. Sometimes your period can stop after a time of great stress (I know a girl who didn't start her period again for a couple of months after having appendicitis), but it usually has to be very, very great and traumatic. Have you lost/gained a lot of weight recently? Been exercising heavily? If not, you really, really need to go see the doctor (and you should anyway since it's been over 6 months). It can mean that there's something wrong with your reproductive organs or that your hormones aren't functioning correctly, which are both rather serious to say the least.

Although it's a literal pain, regular periods are usually a sign of good health, and if you miss more than one or two, you should have yourself checked out.

You really should see someone sweetie. I, myself haven't had one in 2 and a half months and I'm starting to get worried (I know I'm not pregnant for the same reasons as you).

The last time I skipped this long I wound up having to have a cyst removed from my right ovary and almost losing the ovary.

So, yes. Go see someone about it. And so will I.

It doesn't have to be because of something serious. But it might be. So get it checked and refuse to be embarrassed that you don't know when your last period was. I didn't keep track for the first, like, 10 years. ;-)

It depends on your age, I suppose.. if you're anywhere in your teens, it may not have regulated yet but depending on past patterns, just worry if you've always had it every month, on the dot. I remember one year I missed like four or five months and even now I do get the odd late periods.. but do, do go see a doctor and just give them a rough estimate of when you last got your period, your health is more important than their opinion of you..

I'm here to second everyone else. See a doctor. Doc can give you a little something to get you going. A girl who worked with me once had the same issue, and was told it wasn't healthy to go so long.

And really? You do have a clue. Last one sometime before Christmas. So it isn't exact detail, but it will get Doc's butt in gear, 'cause that's a scary long time.

*nods* lemme second all the people above. I'm also a virgin but due to my weight, I have very similar problems. I once went 2 years without a period. It slowly worked up to that point, but it wasn't safe. I got a mini lecture from my doc when I went, because the build up in the uterus could've caused all kinds of problems, but I "got lucky". I even went the reverse direction and had a period for three months straight a few years ago. I've been on the pill off and on to regulate my period. I usually stay on it as long as I can remember to. lol It might be "nothing" it might be something that's easily treatable if you go in now. {{positive vibes}}

Due to your weight? That might be the explanation for me. Hmm. Thanks.
