Before anyone is allowed to write or direct an episode of a show, they should have to watch every single episode of the show.

I approve of this idea, but I think you should give special dispensation for soap operas. As The World Turns has been on television since 1956. Guiding Light has been on television since 1952, and was on radio all the way back to 1937!

Actually, As The World Turns still has an actress who was on their first show. It's hard to imagine somebody playing the same character for over fifty years, but it's apparently true.
