It only bothered me until I saw that the person that I wrote it for liked it. Once I saw that, *poof* all hurt was gone. So, really, I think that I was projecting my nerves about how the recipient would feel onto anyone who made recs. Like, if nobody recc'd my story, then surely the person that I wrote it for couldn't like it and, Oh! The agony!
Once I saw that my person liked it, my nerves were gone and I wasn't bugged anymore.
I've never cared before about whether or not people like my stuff (although, it's always a joy to find out that people do, it just isn't likely to change anything I write and not getting responses certainly hasn't stopped me from continuing to write the type of thing that gets no feedback), but it's different when a story is meant as a present. It's meant to be liked, at least by the person it's meant for. Hence, the nerves.
Also, the names have been put out, so I don't know why I'm still avoiding names.
