This isn't bad, in fact, it's managed to completely destroy any hints of Creed that were lying around, so that's a good thing.
But. Yeah. It makes me all shiver-sad for poor Gollum. It's just so... sad.
where once was light, now darkness falls
where once was love, love is no more
don't say good-bye
don't say I didn't try
these tears we cry are falling rain,
for all the lies you told us - the hurt, the blame
and we will weep to be so alone
we are lost
we can never go home
so in the end, I'll be what I will be
no loyal friend was ever there for me
now we say good-bye
we say you didn't try
these tears you cry have come too late
take back the lies, the hurt, the blame
and you will weep when you face the end alone
you are lost
you can never go home
you are lost
you can never go home
This song succeeds in majorly creeping me out while making me feel incredibly sad for the singer. And 'singer' it is, despite the use of plural. Because this song is straight from Gollum's point of view. And the voice is... perfect.
It's just such an mournful portrait of someone who has given up. And in giving up, wishes others to feel the same pain. The first verse is self-centered, it's about Gollum's views on himself. Then, he switches to talking about Frodo.
So, in the end, I'll be what I will be. No loyal friend was ever there for me. (Unlike you, I have no Sam.)
He goes on to condemn Frodo to suffer his own fate.
And I just realized that while I was skipping about with joy in my discovery of my LOTR's OTP, I never actually mentioned the couple in question, which would be Merry and Pippin.
