I first heard this song via a Clex+Desiree vid. Totally fell in love with it.
Sad thing is, so few relationships actually work with the song. Clark/Lex/Desiree, yes, but someone tried to do Buffy/Spike to it which was just... ugly. First off, it really is the kind of vid that need a triangle. Secondly, the girl has to be evil or off. At least in my head. So, I was utterly thrilled when I saw that there was a Angel/Cordy/Connor vid to it. And then disappointed. Luckily, there was a second vid with those three... which also disappointed me, though it was better. To clarify, neither vid is bad, they just aren't... perfect (especially the second one, which comes so close, only it isn't tight enough and meh). I'm demanding (well, I can be. sometimes). It's just that I can mentally picture the perfect footage and timing and... I really wish I could make vids.
Can't explain why I like the song so much, since I'm usually not a big fan of "Evil Woman" stuff, but... hell, it has a killer sound and I just like it. (I also liked the recent cover of Don't Fear the Reaper that was played on Smallville, so milage may vary.) And I can just picture the perfect Angel/Cordy/Connor vid to it. That's the frustrating part: having this perfect vid in my head and not being able to do anything about it.
This is just happening more and more frequently. Eventually, I just know that I'm going to suck it up and get myself some vidding software. After I get a job, if that ever happens. Maybe I can ask for it for my birthday. My 21st. That's important, what with the legally being able to drink (hah! not that my underageness stopped any of my relatives from telling me to at least just try it... man, my family is weird).
Disease
Feels like you made a mistake
You made somebody's heart break
But now I have to let you go
I have to let you go
You left a stain
On every one of my good days
But I am stronger than you know
I have to let you go
No one's ever turned you over
No one's tried
To ever let you down,
Beautiful girl
Bless your heart
I got a disease
Deep inside me
Makes me feel uneasy baby
I can't live without you
Tell me what I am supposed to do about it
Keep your distance from it
Don't pay no attention to me
I got a disease
Feels like you're making a mess
You're hell on wheels in a black dress
You drove me to the fire
And left me there to burn
Every little thing you do is tragic
All my life, oh was magic
Beautiful girl
I can't breathe
I got a disease
Deep inside me
Makes me feel uneasy baby
I can't live without you
Tell me what I am supposed to do about it
Keep your distance from it
Don't pay no attention to me
I got a disease
I think that I'm sick
But leave me be while my world is coming down on me
You taste like honey, honey
Tell me can I be your honey
Be, be strong
Keep telling myself it that won't take long till
I'm free of my disease
Yeah well free of my disease
Free of my disease
I got a disease
Deep inside me
Makes me feel uneasy baby
I can't live without you
Tell me what I am supposed to do about it
Keep your distance from it
Don't pay no attention to me
I got a disease
I think that I'm sick
But leave me be while my world is coming down on me
You taste like honey, honey
Tell me can I be your honey

Yeah well free of my disease
Free of my disease

And yeah, that W/T vid is powerful. I miss them. They were so cute. And pretty. They then they went all pulling my heart from my chest like that, which wasn't fair.

Date: 2003-04-24 01:42 pm (UTC)There are actually about five or six S/B vids to that song. ahahaha. Which, in my opinion, is a perfect fit -- IF it's done right. One of the vids I've seen did an excellent job with it (a fairly talented vidder), but. yeah. There were some real crappy ones, as one tends to get with S/B vids. Ouch.
It works well with Spike/Buffy, in my opinion, because of how it was often expressed in the early days of Spike's love for Buffy (by both Spike and others) was something like a disease, an infection. And it's so perfect from Spike's point of view, as he often saw her as tormenting him. (He even demands/begs in the musicial for her to "leave him in peace").
And the song is so much frantic, can't-you-see-I'm-losing-it pleading that starts like Spike often did, with the whole, "Okay, that's it! It's over!" (You left a stain/On every one of my good days/But I am stronger than you know/I have to let you go) which quickly dissolves into panicked thoughts about feeling uneasy, haunted, asking her to leave, asking her to be his honey, and telling himself that he'll be free from his obsession (though it's clear to the "audience" that he's just fooling himself).
and the line "every little thing you do is tragic" is so reminiscent of Buffy, along with:
No one's ever turned you over
No one's tried
To ever let you down,
Beautiful girl
Bless your heart
As Spike sees her as having devoted followers and goody-good boyfriends, and himself letting her down and shaking her up.
(I think this song could also work very well with the Season 2 Angel/Darla arc...)

Date: 2003-04-24 02:09 pm (UTC)And, um. There's another one for the Angel triangle over here, if you're interested. It's not terribly high quality, though, and there's minimal Connor.
