Thank you! I've been dreaming of doing this vid for about three years now, so it was thrilling to actually make it.
So far, I've done one other Angel vid -- it's a Wes-centric vid (http://www.livejournal.com/users/butterfly/1026988.html) to Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah. Spoilers for the series finale.
And I've definitely caught the vidding bug. Being able to speak in the same medium that the show is presented in is pretty sweet -- it feels more accurate than writing meta or fanfic.
I really felt that the intense feeling of the song captured what I felt watching that arc (and though I've loved many since, including the Connor arc, the Darla-Lindsey arc is still my favorite ever). Plus, it's a song about a prostitute, so I couldn't resist.
tafkarfanfic posted the link to this vid, and I must say, I'm incredibly glad she did. What a lovely vid! The handling of the theme of the song was very well done indeed.
Thanks very much for sharing. 'Twas a perfect way to start off the morning.
Guh. Simply gorgeous. The Angel/Darla/Lindsey arc was so visceral. You've captured it perfectly. Tight and sharp, but rich too. Your Wes vid too. I didn't start watching vids until I came into SG fandom, so I'm not too familiar with Buffyverse vids, but these two just blew me away. So rich and the music works powerfully with the clips you chose.
Btw... Check this out (http://www.livejournal.com/community/jackslashdaniel/144472.html?mode=reply&style=mine). Just in case you ever felt compelled to make a Stargate vid ;)

It's one of my favorite Angel arcs, if not my very favorite, so I'm just absolutely thrilled that the vid gets across the way that the arc made me feel.

Thank you! Making both of the vids were such great experiences, too. Trying to find just the right images to express how the character/arc made me feel... it's a lot of fun.
And I'm pretty sure that I'll vid Stargate at some point. I just need to find an irresistable song (I've a few ideas, but they aren't clear enough yet).
Damn. That was wonderfully done. Fantastic choice of song/cuts that matched well but not too cutesy. And I just- Well, I'm not really sure how to go about feedbacking a video. Lovely and terrific and it makes me want to pull out my dvds right now.

For someone who doesn't know how to feedback a vid, you did a great job.
yay, another vid from you! and i caught it before it expired too :) it's 3am and i'm not v. coherent so i'm going to fback in bullets: * the mood and the lyrics of the song fit the theme of the vid so well * am blinded by the pretty * great shots of lurking, skulking angel * best bit: music crescendos as darla walks in the room, angel looking absolutely torn. guh. close second: the music/visual synch near the beginning where the swirliness begins, and then the grabbing of weapons. * beautiful ending shot (tho it perhaps disappears a bit too fast) er, i hope this makes at least some sense. and is it ok if i friend you?
*the mood and the lyrics of the song fit the theme of the vid so well
I've wanted to do this vid for ages and it really is just because of that -- because the music suited the situation so well, and it had just the right sort of operatic feel to it.
* am blinded by the pretty
Yeah. I find all three of the main players extremely attractive, so making the vid was a nice exercise in looking at pretty people.
* great shots of lurking, skulking angel
He's so very ominous, isn't he? Angel can really give off menace when he wants to.

The beginning fight was a lot of fun to make, with establishing the players and establishing the mood. The story really did work so well with the music and I adore both that arc and that song so much.
* beautiful ending shot (tho it perhaps disappears a bit too fast) er, i hope this makes at least some sense. and is it ok if i friend you?
Thank you again for the feedback. And yeah, I never mind being friended. It's a compliment.
Darla's one of my favorite non-cast characters -- she's got such elegance and class, and it's so self-imposed. She's a creature of pure will-power, really. She very much reminds me of Buffy.

Thank you, I love that arc of Angel so much, so I can only hope that I did it justice.
