Xander/Dru, takes off from a scene in Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered.
Written for [livejournal.com profile] mahaliem. Exactly 1000 words. Nothing terribly graphic, so... god, I suck with ratings. PG-13, I guess.

Start With Coffee

Being pulled out of a window and then threatened by an evil vampire was scary enough, but being hit on by an insane evil vampire was somehow so much worse.

At first, Angel looked just as creeped out as Xander felt and it even looked like he was going to leave, not that that would really make things better, but then - oh, God, no - apparently Angel decided that making Drusilla happy was more important than killing one of Buffy's friends.

Oh, this was not going to end well.

As she pulled him away from the house, he could hear screaming in the distance - actually it sounded remarkably like Willow and the girls who wanted to kill him for not loving them enough. Had Willow figured that he'd go to Buffy's house? He spared a panicked thought for Cordelia, alone in Buffy's room, but the vampire's grip on him didn't give him a chance to break free. Or even struggle that much.

With luck, Cordy would be smart enough to hide. With more luck, Giles would convince Amy to reverse the spell. Except... oh, shit, then he'd be alone with two evil vampires and neither of them would want to keep him safe.

God, there was no good here. There was only more bad. Infinite amounts of more bad.

Drusilla had given up on dragging him and just picked him up, speeding up slightly. God, she must be eager to do... oh, God.

After a while, they got to the old Crawford street mansion, which, well, that made sense as a hide-out for scary things, and then the level of bad jumped again. Because now there were three evil vampires, two of which were looking at him with some really disturbing confusion and one that was still obviously in fake love with him.

"Why the hell is he here? Dru? Angel?" And Spike sounded frustrated and upset, and you know what, staying near Drusilla was a good thing right now, or at least a marginally better thing. Only that was leading to face-stroking and more ugly looks from Angel and Spike.

"I found a kitten, who just needs claws." Xander tried not to flinch from the happiness in Drusilla's voice. "He will live forever in the night with us."

And the idea that she might turn him shouldn't be coming as a surprise, but there was both surprise and a large amount of fear and he couldn't stop a shudder of revulsion. Luckily, she seemed to think that it was the good kind of shudder and didn't try to kill him horribly for hurting her feelings. She was already one up on the other women under the spell.

"And why did you let her bring him back here?" Well, at least Spike was annoyed with Angel, too. Maybe they'd kill each other and he could escape in the confusion. And that was about as likely as a last minute Buffy rescue.

"At first, I didn't think much of her... sudden infatuation, but then something occurred to me," Angel made his way over to them and slung his arm around Xander's shoulder in a parody of friendship. "Turning one of the Slayer's friends is even better than just killing him. I mean, can you imagine the look on her face when she sees him? It'll be great."

Oh, great, Angel thought it was a good idea. It was at times like these that a person wished that they'd never even heard of the existence of magic.

"Do we have to keep him?" Petulant vampires. God, he was stuck in some sick soap opera.

"What the hell are you blathering about?" Oh, god, he'd said that bit about the sick soap opera aloud. Luckily, Drusilla was keeping herself between him and Spike. Unfortunately, that meant that Angel was still standing next to him, and keeping a tight grip on his shoulders. And Angel seemed to be finding the whole thing amusing now, which was at least something that didn't involve death.

"Be a good boy. He'll defend my honor and win us a pretty trophy." After she spoke, Drusilla pulled him away from Angel and pushed him against a wall. He tried to pull away, but he didn't have a chance in hell and they both knew it. She pulled his head to the side, revealing his neck, and he redoubled his struggle. God, this had to be a really horrible dream. "It's time, my love."

The first push of fangs into his neck was like being stabbed, but after a moment, it started to feel nice, almost like she was just giving him a hickey. He could feel his body relax and his eyelids started to flutter closed. Now he was slumped against the wall, Drusilla the only thing keeping him upright.

Just when he thought that he would pass out, she pulled away. She looked faint and dizzy in the moonlight, but maybe that was just him. Her face was normal now, not a demon anymore, and she was pretty. Her eyes... they were so deep, so intense. He could feel himself start to move slightly, matching her movements.

She smiled at him and then pushed his head down to her chest, and there was the sweetest smell. He sucked lightly and was rewarded with a gush of hot liquid. Blood, he thought faintly, I'm drinking blood. And somehow the thought wasn't as terrifying as it should be. It was rich and warm and everything in the world.

After a while, she pushed him away and he fell against the wall, eyes almost closed. He forced them open, but nothing looked right anymore - it was all blurry and starting to go dark.

Everything started to fade. His heart was slowing or maybe that was just time. His whole body felt heavy and he felt the most curious sensation of satisfaction. He took one last gasp of air and let it go.

And Xander Harris felt himself die.

Thank you so much. I was hoping that you would do the Xander/Dru pairing. You did a great job with it.

You are so very welcome. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it.

And yeah, I tried to write some Angel/Spike, but then I rewatched some season two and it just wasn't working for me. And then I rewatched BB&B and Xander/Dru totally worked for me.

Thanks again for the feedback.
