At least that's what it feels like. I've spent most of the last two days reading [livejournal.com profile] nocturne_alley. Well, reading some of it. I went back and followed the community, Harry, Draco, and Hermione. It's an incredibly time-consuming thing, especially spread over 80 million journals (okay, maybe it's more like 20).

Draco's entries are always the most amusing. He's quite the storyteller, which is a trait that rings true from canon. He's also a horrible little brat who I couldn't possibly adore more.

On a slightly different note, [livejournal.com profile] sistermagpie has something very interesting to say regarding the way authority is treated in the LoTR books and the HP books. I particulary agree with regards to Mr. Weasley.

Heh. Sorry about that. It's a bit addicting, I know.

I love [Unknown site tag] too. I'm catching up in a different way. I'm slowly working my way through the community postings, month by month in chronological order, and selected character journals, starting with the more obscure characters. Yesterday I read a whole bunch of Hufflepuff journals.

Have you looked at the Nocturne Alley fan community, [Unknown site tag]? There have been some really interesting posts in there lately.

Ooo. That's a good idea. I'll have to do that eventually. I'd love to read about the evolving paranoia of the Hufflepuffs and the saga of Snape thinking that Neville is evil. I've gotten the gist of the story, all the big stokes, but there's a lot of minor character work (I'm so impressed with everyone involved) that I really want to look into.

And I only recently found [livejournal.com profile] nraged, which is also fairly addicting. Now it's like watching a soap opera with a ton of other addicts.

Isn't it, though? One weekend NA just exploded and I literally got no sleep and ate nothing. I was practically glued to my computer (until a friend dragged me out of the house). Very sad.

I love the way the characters are done, particularly the way the students really seem like kids. Just the friendships, particularly between the two Trios (Gryffindor and Slytherin) I just love. They're both so different but at base they care about each other and know how to make each other feel better, though they're both suspicious of the other Trio. It just gets to me! Not to knock many incredible things done by the adults in the RP too. There's a reason it's that addictive.

It's so well done. My only complaint is that it's so hard to keep track of.

The kids are amazing. Harry/Ron/Hermione are great. Draco/Millicent/Pansy is fun. The Hufflepuffs kill me.

And I really liked the Draco/Harry/Millicent stuff. Her teasing him about being TBWL and him being able to take it and tease back. He's learning the Slytherin way of friendship, which includes constant amicable insults.

How do they decide on what's happening and how things turn out? It's all very impressive.
