Visceral reaction to a Buffyverse character: Faith

I still don't like Faith. And I know that it's unfair of me when she has shown that she's sorry for her misdeeds. Only, she isn't, for all of them. She never tries to apologise to Xander for the whole 'I tried to rape and kill you' thing. If Angel hadn't saved Xander, he would have died. And in Season Seven, she jokes about being Xander's first, but seemingly fails to recall that he tried to be more and she tried to rape and kill him.

I like characters to show a little remorse. Spike showed us that he was ashamed and horrified by what he did and by what he tried to do to Buffy. Anya was willing to give up her life to bring those frat guys back. Andrew understood the full horror of his actions.

Faith felt bad for what she did to Buffy, but did she ever have a moment where we saw her feel bad for what she did to Xander?

That's pretty much where any hostility towards Faith comes from with me.

First: let me just say, I'm a Faith fan (or atleast, for when she was in S3 & the bodyswitching eps) and a Faith/Xander shipper. I think part of it was because as tramatized as it made Xander (for, like, the rest of the episode which nobody noticed and bugged me), I'm completely convinced that Xander understood why she did it. Xander seemed to get that she was a scared kid which is why he felt a "connection" to her. So he anything she said he probably woulda just shrugged it off. But, yeah, I woulda liked her to say *something*. But I was too busy looking for Faith's personality in S7 to worry about stuff like continuity.

But mostly? I think Joss liked to *show* rape on Buffy, but wasn't sure what to do after it.

Hyena!Xander almost rapes Buffy, but when he claims he can't remember, nobody bothers to *tell* him and Buffy and Willow apparently find it funny. Faith rapes Xander, nobody mentions it, not even Angel who was there, while Xander sits *quietly* in the corner and Xander gets over it kinda quick. Willow mind-rapes Tara which makes Tara get far away from her (yay!), but then she just shows up again and everything's forgiven cause she misses her. Buffy spends S6 sorta-raping Spike, suddenly in S7 she "used to be in love" with him during this time. Spike attempts to rape Buffy back, Xander seems to be the only person who is vaguely annoyed by it (besides Spike, who Joss didn't even decide until S7 whether he got the soul cause he was guilty or because he meant to get the chip out and got the soul by accident).

Plus the whole Dracula episode where I'm pretty sure Buffy, Xander, and Giles all got raped, even if they "wanted" it at the time do to the thrall.

Wow. My comment? Was a little over two times the size allowed. I blame this on Spike, because he's convenient.
