Eeeee!
So, I just watched the Serenity commentary and now I'm about to watch The Train Job's commentary and... ooo! New bit! The beginning of my tapes were cut off because! New bit! Girl! Dancing! Eee!
Hmm. I need to make a Firefly icon, as I do suspect that I'll be posting about these episodes. And then there might be more posting. And. Eee! Dvds! Must watch them all tonight, even if it takes all night because there are episodes here I haven't seen!
And while I'm here, I'll do that meme.
One True Pairing 'ship: Buffy/Xander. They are the hot fudge on my ice cream. Without them, there is no sundae.
Canon 'ship: Willow/Tara - because they were the absolute best thing ever when Willow wasn't, you know, violating her mind. Still, of all of Willow's romances, Tara was my favorite and I just adore Tara so much that I want her to have her happiness and that's Will.
"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" 'ship: Spike/Fred - because there has to be one guy that there's no Fred-romance with. I like the friendship with them. It's nice. It's platonic.
"You are one sick bastard" 'ship: Faith/Xander - she a) tried to rape him and b) switched to attempted murder once her motor got running
"I dabble a little" 'ship: Angel/Wesley (I've only written one thing with them so far)
"It's like a car crash" 'ship: Buffy/Spike - if we're using 'car crash' in the sense of 'horrified and yet fascinated', especially during S6
"Tickles my fancy but not quite sold yet" 'ship: Fred/Willow
"Makes no canon sense but why the hell not" 'ship: um... I can't actually think of one.
"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" 'ship: Spike/Xander
"When all is said and done" 'ship: Buffy/Xander, again. I just...
silviakundera did a B/X vid to Elton John's I Wanna Grow Old With You and... yes. That. They could be happy and there'd be fights, but they don't ever stay away from each other. In Seeing Red, they both take turns at reaching out. They don't stay mad, neither of them. And Xander can make Buffy mad and she needs to get mad and push back sometimes.

Date: 2003-12-14 05:59 am (UTC)Your shipping habits are interesting. B/X is something I haven't really considered since season 1. I can definitely see where you're coming from, but for me, seeing them as anything other than tender, trusting friends takes a lot of the warmth out of their relationship. Totally with you on the Spred, though.

I think that they could handle the transition. But I also think that if they never make that jump, they'll still always be great with each, true friends. Either way, I'm good, but I like the best friends to lovers dynamic (which has actually become them more and more - they weren't really 'best friends' until probably the beginning of S4 and it wasn't truly cemented until their reconciliation in Seeing Red.).
