It's a hell of a good time.

butterflyJust got back from my mom's. We saw Conviction, Unleashed, Hellbound, and Life of the Party.
My mom adores this season. She thinks that Fred is the cutest thing in the world and she loves Spike. And she loves 'that other guy', who is always Wes. She always likes him and can never remember his name. Such an odd thing. Amusingly enough, she's of the opinion that he's a touch wimpy. Wonder if Lineage will change her mind any? And she hates Cordy, so is very happy about the lack of same. When it was revealed that Cordy was still in a coma, my mom said, "Oh, good. She doesn't wake up, right?" She's iffy on Eve herself, but thinks that Eve is a vast improvement on Cordelia, which amuses me all to hell. And she laughed a lot watching the episodes. And did some gasping. She's a great person to watch with... though not necessarily on the first viewing.
I'm going to try to go back next Tuesday and get her the rest of the way caught up.
I really do love Season Five. I love Eve and how everything she says sounds different now. I love Wesley with his Fred thing and his slightly off thing. I love Angel with his guilt and pain thing. I love how every episode is about Angel, even the ones that pretend that they aren't. I love Fred, who isn't crazy. Again. I love Gunn, who was hotness personified in that red shirt. I love wheeling and dealing Lorne. And I'll admit it - I love Spike and his dramatics.
