So, I bought a new dvd player yesterday, (it's a dvd/vcr combo) only to come home to see thatt my cable modem connection was down.

A tech is coming over to my place tomorrow morning to check it over and hopefully I won't have to pay for repairs, but that would be why I haven't been around.

My new dvd player is working great, though.

You are so lucky you can get a tech out to your place in only two days. I called last Friday, and we have to wait at least 5 days... only no one's home on Wednesday, so it's more like 7 days till Friday.

Thanks. And yeah, I had killer luck (though, not to jinx myself, I do tend to have good luck) in regards to the appointment. And now my computer is happy and online and yay!
