Final Fantasy X & X2
Apr. 1st, 2004 03:35 pmOne of the things that I love about the game is the message that is imbedded in the very existence of Tidus.
Tidus is a dream (a dream of fayth that conquers Sin, no less). So, in X, a dream is what saves the day and makes the future hopeful again. A dream is what finds a solution out of the fighting. A dream is what brings hope and life to Yuna, who had spent most of her life planning for her death.
Then, in X2, we see that when a dream is believed in and sought after with all the strength and will and hope that a person can summon, we see that dream become flesh because Yuna wills it so.
Dreams can save the world, and believing in a dream can make that dream a reality.
That's really a very beautiful message.
