butterfly: (Writing - due South)
Yeah, I'm checking on google and such, but if anyone has any useful and accurate links/info, I am all eyes.

Specifically, I appear to be writing an actual case-file-type due South fic. There's a plot. There's a criminal. There's another Mountie. There's wackiness. There's also first-time sex, which is yay.

It's set post-CotW, when Benton Fraser is traveling with RayK and runs across a Mountie in a town. Said Mountie has heard of Fraser and asks for his help on something -- shouldn't take too long, he says. Dangerous criminal, he adds. This is not something Fraser can say no to, especially when Ray jumps right into the idea.

Anyway, it's set up in the Northern Territories. So that's what I'd be wanting to know more about. Again, like I said, I'm googling, but there's only so much google can do.
butterfly: (Election - Fraser/RayK)
I'm very much looking forward to it. Kinda wish I hadn't seen the promo, so that I could be extra surprised, but the world goes on. I do think that I've caught the drift of the series, but I've always felt oddly connected to Joss Whedon's way of thinking. He makes sense to me because I think the same way he does -- character and idea first, plot second. Which is probably more endearing in a fanfic writer than a tv one.

On the due South font, I need to rewatch Mountie and Soul before writing the next part of 'Queering the Text'. I'm also apparently writing a long story tentatively titled Hamilton's Locket which is going to have some F/K first-time action in it. Plus, Fraser wants me to write some more post-episode vignettes on the theme of lying, since I've got two already. He wants his own series, is what he wants. Also, Ray is complaining that Fraser's the only person who gets to talk about sex. Luckily, he shuts up when I remind him that I'm still working through his Stella issues.

In addition to all that, Ray Vecchio is trying to convince me that he has something interesting and new to say about love and Stella and moonbeams, for some reason. And he wants to use bowling as a metaphor. Ray Vecchio is cracked.
butterfly: (Beloved - Illyria)
I love ME titles. I love that they pretty much cover every aspect of the episode. They can be taken in several different ways, though there's usually one or two dominant readings. Love them.

God, I'm going to miss having a Joss Whedon show to look forward to. The only other show that can hit me as deeply is due South. There are other series that I love, but none of them hit mental and emotional with as much punch as Buffy, Angel, Firefly, and due South have. I suspect that has to do with the characters -- these shows feature characters that feel like people, despite (or perhaps enhanced by) their fantastic surroundings. Truth in fiction. They all also feature people who are flawed, yet who are, at heart, basically good people. People that you'd like to know.
