The last night of 'Buffy'
May. 20th, 2003 09:58 amTonight, I'm going to watch the last ever episode of Buffy. I probably won't cry the first time: I didn't cry the first time 'round watching The Body or The Gift because it was too much.
I suspect Chosen will be too much.
I'm completely unspoiled, apart from having seen the remarkably uninformative preview.
Tonight, I'm going to say "Good-bye," to people that I've known and loved for six and a half years.
But though canon ends, a show never dies until people stop loving it, stop writing it, stop caring. I didn't get into the due South or Farscape fandoms until after the shows were over.
Nothing you love ever really dies, not as long as you remember it and keep it close to your heart.
Still, seeing the final closing credits tonight will do a number on my heart...
I'm going to miss learning new things about them.
