I'm giving him 20 dollars. It's symbolic.

Possibly it's symbolic of my cheapness.

Someone asked me about Lance/Britney. Anyone know if there are any actual completed stories?

I told her about New Sensation but that's got Justin too...

Well, their bags do. It ripped on me.

I bought two tape singles for the car. Stronger and Get Over Yourself. They didn't have any for *NSYNC.

Almost bought an *NSYNC notebook but was saved when I noticed that it was slightly ripped.

It's kinda sad to see all of the *NSYNC stuff gone but tons of BSB stuff hanging around. I mean, yeah, I like *NSYNC better but now I'm feeling all sorry for BSB.

I bought the Harry Potter issue of Vanity Fair and the Britney issue of YM.

And I bought an alarm clock. For waking up for college classes.

Trust Grandma to ruin it.

I can't believe that anyone can act that way.

I go to hug her good-bye and she grabs me and tells me that I need to lose weight and that if I were her daughter, I'd shape up.

Fuck you, Grandma.

Not that I could say that at the time.

I finally met Tony's girlfriend. Her name is Lindsey and she's exactly how I thought she would be: thin, blonde and cute.

The Feminism: Theories and Ethics thread at MBTV is getting a little heated up, mostly because of a girl named theatregrrl who has said... well, you'll see some of the stuff.

I believe that there are specific roles for women and specific roles for men (especially when it comes to career choices)

What exactly is that supposed to mean? Please tell me you're not saying that women should stick to certain areas of work. Please tell me you're not saying that, as a woman, I should be careful what area I decide to work in, because it might not be suited to my gender. Please tell me you don't think that my teenage sister should give up her goal of becoming a doctor because that's a "male profession", and please tell me you don't think that men are better than women. Oh, wait...

and yes, in many ways, men are superior to women.

Sorry, could you please say that again? The cries of millions of angry women drowned you out the first time. What are these "many ways", exactly? Are men smarter than women? Are men better read than women? Are men more open-minded then women? Do men show more empathy and compassion? Do they have a better appreciation for the arts? Does my boyfriend's penis automatically make him better than me?

Wait, never mind, I know what you're going to say...

Take physical size, for example.

Ah. Yes. I knew this was coming. Let me see if I have this straight. The guy who works the counter at the Avondale on Wednesday nights is superior to me because he can bench press 200 pounds and I can't. Donovan Bailey is better than me because he can run 100 metres in 9.84 seconds and I can't. The man in 3C is better than me because he can carry heavy boxes of groceries up the stairs and I have trouble doing the same. Mike Clemons is better than I am because he can push sweaty 300 pound guys to the ground. Okeydokey.

I'm sick and tired of radical feminists who go on and on about how we, as women, can do the same things men can. The truth is, we can't.

Really? Tell that to Margaret Atwood and Patricia Cornwell. Tell that to Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon. Tell that to Emily Dickinson and Christina Rossetti. Tell that to Madonna and Britney Spears. Tell that to Hillary Clinton and Alexa McDonough. Tell that to Susan B. Anthony and Emily Murphy. Tell that to Elizabeth Blackwell. Tell that to Mata Hari and Laura Secord. Tell that to any woman who is right now performing the same job as a man and doing just as good of a job.

I don't think the fact that I can't bench press 200 pounds or tackle a linebacker in a football game or run 100 metres in under ten seconds makes me unworthy of equal status with a man. I have also yet to hear any way aside from physical strength that makes women the "weaker sex".

Wow. I guess I'm one of those radical feminist bitches. Cool.

I guess I am too. And I do think that theatregrrl must be playing DA. If not, then I'm pitying her.

And she's been booted from MBTV.

Because Women's work is never done
And is underpaid or boring or repetitious
And we're the First to get sacked
And what we look like is more important than what we do
And if we get raped it's our fault
And if we get bashed it's our fault
And if we get bashed we must have provoked it
And if we raise our voices we're nagging bitches
And if we enjoy sex we're nymphos
And if we don't we're frigid
And if we love women it's because we can't get a "Real Man"
And if we ask our doctor too many questions
We're neurotic or pushy
And if we expect community care for our children we're selfish
And if we stand up for our rights we're aggressive
And "unfeminine"
And if we don't we're typical weak females
And if we want to get married we're out to trap a man
And if we don't we're "unnatural"
And because we still can't get adequate contraception
But men can walk on the moon
And if we can't
cope or don't want a pregnancy
We are made to feel bad about abortion
And...for lots
And lots of other reasons
We are part of the women's liberation movement
