Attempted to record House. Was off by an hour and got American Idol instead.

This did not please me.

Did see a commercial for House. House is rather attractive in an unshaven way. Wilson appears to have asymmetrical eyes but is still attractive, in a very clean-shaven way.

Have adjusted recording time ahead a hour. Will try again next week.

Now, the plan is to fall into bed and sleep.

Wish me luck.

House is one of the few shows I refuse to miss (the others being Lost, Joan of Arcadia and Numbers), but I'm usually so tired when I get home from work that I fall asleep when it's on, so I record it each week without fail. And even if I stay awake while it's on, I play the tape back and watch it again because it's that good. I actually caught it by chance when it debuted, and was immediately hooked.

Hugh Laurie is incredible, and his performance is even more impressive to me since I only knew him before as a comic actor (love his Bertie Wooster). I do hope FOX is smart enough to keep this one.

As I mentioned here (http://www.livejournal.com/users/vamplover84/250707.html?nc=2) Fox renewed the series for a second season.

It looks like it's an interesting show. I hope that I actually manage to get it recorded next week.

My sympathies on the recording mishap, but think how much fun is ahead for you in the re-runs, which will mostly be new to you.

Yes, Hugh Laurie (House) is totally adorable in his gruff way (in marked contrast to the "goofier" and less menacing charm of his broad comedy work in Blackadder III and Blackadder Goes Forth, or his comic/tragic work in films like Peter's Friends).

As for the actor who plays Wilson, Robert Sean Leonard -- he only annoyed me when I first saw him as a very young actor playing opposite Kate Beckinsale's Hero in Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing, but then I saw an even earlier work of his, the much under-rated My Best Friend is a Vampire, and I was charmed. Now, as House's nearest-thing-to-a-best-friend, he's showing once and for all that he's more than just a pretty face.

Dude! I knew that I'd seen the cute guy with the odd eyes before (don't they look a little uneven? Is it just me?)! And that's because I saw both of those movies! Mystery solved. I feel so much better.

Glad I could help! (I had a sneaking suspicion you might have seen those films, since you seem to have watched many of the same ones I have -- including the frothy Simply Irresistible, which so many people missed and/or dissed.)

My dad was never afraid to rent movies that other people panned. I picked up the habit.
