Episode one covers Thursday night, when Stuart meets Nathan and Alfred is born.

It also starts off Friday morning, when Stuart and Vince take Nathan to school.

Episode two takes place over that Friday.

Episode three takes place on that Saturday. We then get a day shot of the guys talking about their shags. Flash-forward four days ahead to when Vince gets the news about Phil's death.

Episode four takes takes place the day of Phil's funeral. We know that it's a weekday, because Nathan's at school during, also, Sandra wants Stuart to work on a copy for a funeral home. All told, it's about a week later, as Stuart has gone from 'six months' to 'seventeen weeks' until he's thirty. Probably a Friday.

Episode five starts two weeks (a fortnight) later, on a Friday. So, Vince didn't talk to Stuart for two whole weeks. There's an 'ouch' for Stuart's ego. So, they haven't talked for two weeks, Vince phones him up out of nowhere, and Stuart takes off from work to go personally talk to Vince about the 'date' business. Yeah, I can see where Stuart's completely using him. After his date with Cameron, Vince meets up with Stuart and Vince is determined to go out and find a bloke because of the lack of shag with Cameron. Moment of actual irony -- he pulls a man more interested in Doctor Who than shagging. This is also the first time that we don't see Stuart pull a shag. This episode also covers the next day, where Stuart meets Lance and Vince calls Cameron up for a second date. Stuart spots Vince and Cameron on their date. He's exceedingly drunk, in a way that we haven't seen before but will become more familiar with over the next couple of episodes. We don't see Stuart cop off this night either.

Episode six takes place an indeterminate but soon time after five. Vince has been dating Cameron a bit, Stuart's gotten Vince a new mobile. Stuart tries to get Vince to go out with him that night so that Stuart can 'get an educated shag'. When Vince is busy, because of Cameron, we just see Stuart completely blasted (again) and Vince and Cameron coming to pick him up. The entire time that Vince has a boyfriend, we never see Stuart have sex. The closest he gets is in episode eight, which is Stuart attempting to use sex as a manipulative tool. And, note that it doesn't work. Anyway, it isn't too much later, as Stuart is only now dealing with the 'parents might be getting divorced' issue. And by this episode, Nathan is firmly part of Vince's circle, teasing him and shopping with him.

Episode seven takes place three months after episode two -- on Vince's birthday and the day after.

Episode eight takes place an indeterminate but soon time after seven, possibly the next Monday, as Vince is having the "did Rosalie tell them?" question answered. Stuart's just now getting his new jeep and his plot with Lisa, hatched in the last episode, swings into action. Cameron thinks that he's been with Vince long enough to say, "I love you."

QaF2 takes place "not long" after episode seven, according to Janice and Nathan's birthday. But indeterminate, for which I will now hate RTD. Okay, and I'm over it. But still, would dates and times be so hard?

In the first episode Nathan says "six months later, he was begging me to stay", meaning there are 6 months between the end of that episode and the scene in Stuart's flat in episode 8 before Nathan steals K9...

The problem is that that doesn't make internal sense. That would put three months between Vince's birthday and the Vince/Stuart reunion. Plus, that would be Stuart's birthday, which is six months after the night in Via Fosse. But Nathan is young and a drama queen, so I've decided that he was picking a number out of the air and that it only felt like six months to him, kid that he is.

Nathan is a storyteller/truth stretcher, so I agree with your take on the time.
