The Island (non-spoilery)

So, my mom got me tickets to a preview showing of The Island after I mentioned that I wanted to see it because of the, you know, tiny little thing that I have for Ewan McGregor.
Basically, I loved it. I loved the sci-fi, I loved the action, and I absolutely loved the characters. Ewan, as always, created a wonderfully comprehensive and understandable character, but I found the other characters fascinating as well.
I'm looking forward to seeing it again, so that I can process it.

Date: 2005-07-22 08:18 pm (UTC)It was! There were a few moments that had my roommate jumping in shock, but I'm fairly unsquickable, so those didn't bother me. I liked the concept and the contrast between what we see in the beginning and what we get later on.
And the movie carried a wonderful sense of the real with it, I thought. I found the characters to be very believable (McCord was a great example) and very human. They weren't glossy action-hero types, which I appreciated.
