So, I went ahead and got myself a permanent account. Honestly, it just makes sense. I've already been a member of lj for well over four years (Early Adopter) and I can't see my affection for my fandoms, and for y'all, suddenly dying away. I've just gotten more involved, in healthier ways.

So, now, I will do the dance of having fifty more icon slots to fill.

It's $187 Canadian though. I can't imagine not being on LJ, but still, we're talking about the equivalent of 6 years of paid time. Where will I be in 6 years? *ponders*

Btw, do you know what happens to the extra userpics we paid for? I know the leftover LJ time can be transfered to a non-permanent account, but what about the leftover extra userpic time? Can we transfer that too?

Bhhwahha it is contagious. I heard you can transfer time to others. I haven't gone there yet to look to find out.

I'm leaning towards doing it, too. I'll admit the high price tag bites, but since I expect to be hanging around here long enough for the account to pay for itself (and hopefully longer), I think I'm going to take the plunge. The 100 icons was the push I needed, although I'm sure as soon as I do it, 100 icons will be offered to regular paid members for a minimal fee. My timing always sucks, so I don't imagine it will be any different with this. You said you were an Early Adopter. I never really understood that term. How long have you been here?

Ha! What did I tell you? I continued on down my Friends List and just found this bit of info from LJ News: "Paid users will be able to upgrade to 100 user pictures in the near future." The only question is when that "near future" will be.
