Vampire Diaries 4x11 - Catch Me If You Can

Oh! Damon figuring out that he's been compelled and warning Elena and Jeremy and omg. All the big-brother-type snottiness he was showing Jeremy earlier is gone because Jeremy is in danger and it's from him. And then Jeremy shot him in the head instead of the heart because he doesn't want to kill him and. Ah! So many feelings. Even at the very last, he's standing there telling Jeremy to shoot him so that he won't kill Jeremy.

Oh, Matt. You, too, have fallen under the spell of "the sire bond has changed Elena". Probably because you're very unaware of how Elena and Damon have been tag-team co-parenting Jeremy since before she was a vampire.

Wow, Stefan giving Elena a "yeah, btw, I'm actually an asshole and was hiding it the whole time I was in a relationship with you. That's a thing" speech was... almost funny. Oh, Stefan.

Shane is very good at manipulating people. I give another point towards 'fake sire bond'. Glad Bonnie's realized things are messed up there.

I love Elena.

P.S. Is this the first episode that Caroline hasn't appeared in?

Yep, the sire bond storyline makes me want to take a nap.

But Jeremy and Damon, I heart them SO. Also, if Alaric was still around, imagine how AWESOME the training would have gone?

Aw, man, you're making me miss Alaric even more than I already do!

But, yes, Jeremy and Damon were fabulous in this episode.

Oh, Stefan. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but ever since last episode I've been developing a theory that Stefan might be faking the extreme assholery as some sort of daring plot. I guess part of me can't believe he's reacting this over dramatically to D/E.

I can believe it because Stefan is the golden boy -- he always gets picked, especially over Damon. So, basically, his entire worldview has been upended. So, he's trying to do what's worked with him for other things -- rewrite history, rewrite everything.

And, though I understand why Elena and Damon slept together and really thought it was inevitable the second she went over to the Salvatore place... I think it was actually the day after Stefan and Elena officially broke up. This would feel kinda abrupt to Stefen, even knowing that (part of?) the reason he and Elena broke up was because he couldn't handle her feelings for Damon now that she was a vampire.

Stefan is possessive of people and his place in their lives. He loves Damon but he kinda seems to enjoy it when he's the only person who loves Damon. He tried isolating Elena, too, at the end of S3 -- when she's feeling torn up over Alaric, he mentions, "You have me" and doesn't mention all her other family and friends who are there for her. It's an ugly part of his personality, but I think it's been there from the beginning.
