Damon showers with a grin on his face while Elena beats the crap out of a heavy bag. Ha! Seeing Elena physically working out her Damon-frustration was enjoyable.
I really like the shirt that Bonnie's wearing in this episode.

Damon snarking at the dead witches makes me happy.
Jeremy definitely doesn't seem mind-wiped but, rather, compelled to leave town. That's what I thought Damon had done.
I thought that Tyler/Caroline scene in the school parking lot was very bittersweet and well-done.
Klaus: "I get a little moody."
Biggest understatement ever. Ha! This is another great scene.
Awww, Elena, Bonnie, and Matt: *squishes them*
Hee! A dimmer-switch on Stefan's humanity. That's a great image, Damon.
Alaric: "Suddenly you care who lives or dies?"
Damon: "I have a small list."
Alaric: "Talk about a humanity dimmer-switch."
Damon: "Screw you."
A funeral so that Caroline can let go of her former life. That's a pretty good idea if you're in the right mood and it looks like Elena judged right on Caroline's.
Damon writes checks for the various Mystic Falls charitable events.
It's so nice to find out right away that Meredith Fell also knows about the vampires. So far, I like her.
Nice work, Klaus! He basically just pulled the Council out from under Damon.
Free will v. Protection - I am not surprised by Bonnie's reaction to Elena having Damon compel Jeremy.
Fabulous Damon-Stefan scene, though I think Damon just gave Stefan an unfortunate idea.
Matt: "I want her to be happy. That's what I want for all of you guys, in the middle of this crazy life you got stuck with."
Elena: "Is that how you see it - that we're stuck?"
Nice scene between the two of them.
It was so painful to see Tyler bite Caroline. He didn't want to do it, but he couldn't help himself. I wonder if this finally makes him see why what Klaus offers isn't worth it (hmmm - free will vs protection again).
Stefan just came within a hair's breadth of turning Elena into a vampire. In order to revenge himself on Klaus. Not kill her, but turn her when she's said that she doesn't want it. So, he won't go against her free will/choices in order to save her life, but he's willing to do it for the sake of revenge and hatred against Klaus. And off the same damn bridge that killed her parents. There's a large measure of unnecessary cruelty in that, directed at Elena.
Also, wow, that was a terrifying scene.
Elena: "You had me!"
Stefan: "I lost you the minute I left town with him. You just haven't let yourself admit that yet."
Elena: "Is that what you're doing - trying to make me hate you?"
Stefan: "I don't really care what you think about me anymore, Elena."
Oh, this Klaus-Caroline scene. Holy. Wow. That was... wow.
Elena: "You can't kiss me again."
Damon: "I know."
Elena: "It's not right."
Damon: "It's right. It's just not right now."
The way he says it.
The Jeremy-goodbye scene was so sweet (bittersweet).
Ah, this Elena-Matt scene!
Matt: "It's okay to let her go." (her former self)
Elena: "Is it? Because I feel like I've disappointed her a little, like I've disappointed them. My parents."
Matt: "My two cents, as a guy who knew that other girl: you're doing a lot better than you think."
Ah, Matt. How can you be so sweet to Elena and yet so unthinkingly horrible to Caroline? (even in this episode! The only thing he can think to contribute to Caroline's list of attributes is "Mean Girl"?)
Someone killed Meredith Fell's jerk-ass but human ex with a stake. Ah. That's gonna get complicated. Is Meredith a killer doctor?
