So, my body hates me. This is not news. My first period happened at my first high school dance. Which was also my last high school dance, because there is little that traumatizes a freshmen girl like suddenly bleeding from her vagina and having to call her mom to pick her up.

Intellectually, I knew of this menstruation thing, but I was so not prepared. And ever since, my body has contrived to have my period at the worst possible times. And I can't predict it, because it is very erratic and evil. I go for months and start hopefully thinking that maybe my ovaries shriveled up and I will never have to deal with another one, and then, boom, blood.

*sigh*

All of which is to say, guess what started last night?

Seriously, puts a huge crimp in the 'spend time with new-ish people' part of this weekend's plan, because when I have my period, I just want to be alone. Very annoying.

On the plus, now I know why I have this nagging headache.

Apart from the slight headache, it is mostly emotional baggage that my period brings. I'm not in massive pain. Just antisocial and slightly headache-y.

Um, not to be nosy, but that kind of erratic cycle doesn't sound normal on a hormonal level. Periods, while never *fun*, I agree, shouldn't put you in major pain either. Have you mentioned this to your doctor?

Birth control has worked wonders for me to regulate said hormones. Some women don't do as well on it, and there are plenty of personal and medical reasons not to go on birth control, so I know it's not an instant fix for everyone.

That being said, I've been there. I'm sorry you're not feeling well!

Part of the problem of that is that I'm not really certain I want regular periods. Because, it seems likely that they would come more often. Plus, I'm in an insurance-less period in my life, which complicates things.

The headache thing is pretty minor, as headaches go. Most of the annoyance comes from the emotional bleh that I feel when I have it.

Thank you, though.

*hugs* I know how you feel, mine's pretty erratic, but comes extremely painful. I wind up doped up on Percocet once a month. I'm sorry your body is treating you so poorly. They just have no consideration for us, sometimes. XD

Aw, thank you. And yes, you are so right. No consideration at all.

*hugs* Sorry, sugar.

Four times a year may or may not be more often than you have now, but it's better than thirteen! Want me to see how much it is without insurance?

I myself am not sure if it would be more or less. And sure, if it isn't out of your way, I'd be curious about the price.

Thanks, sweetie.

*hugs*

For a three month cycle....

It's $122.70 from my mail order pharmacy. At http://dreampharm.com/Seasonale_online.html, it is $165. It may be cheaper at a local pharmacy or through the county health clinic.
