Hee! Rebekah's introduction to the 21st century! Love!
Rebekah: "You know, I got dirty looks for wearing trousers."
Klaus: "You wore trousers so that women today could wear nothing."
Mysterious!Katherine is mysterious.
And then we go to adorable and domestic Damon/Elena. Hip-check! So cute. omg, could die. so cute. And the lack of personal space. Also, the necklace, which has been completely reinvented now that we know it once belonged to Rebekah. All the world is connected.
Katherine: "Come on, Stefan, you're not the diabolical type. Whatever you're planning, it won't work."
Katherine has also noticed that Stefan generally sucks at plans, I see.
Hi, Anna! Hi, Bonnie! Oh, that's not going to be awkward for Jeremy at all.
Also, lol, Elena totally took what Damon said about chili to heart.
Yay, Liz-Damon scene! Ah, good, they did lock up Bill with plans to have Damon compel him to forget (it would probably be too traumatizing for Caroline to do it).
Oh, is that our first on-screen male-male vampire bite? Thinking back, I... can't think of any. We've had knowledge of them happening, but I'm not sure we've seen it. Can anyone else remember it happening on-screen before?
Gloria, why'd you have to do me like that and get all pro-torture? Ah, well, I guess no one lives for unnaturally long by being made of hugs and kittens.
"What is wrong with you?" Elena asks and... it's pretty simple. Damon doesn't tolerate threats. Bill is a threat. Damon is not tame. Big *ouch* at him snapping Alaric's neck (even with the pointed look toward the Gilbert ring). I, uh, can understand why Alaric didn't shrug that off.
Katherine just snaked the necklace from Bonnie! Nice one. I'm impressed.
So, just as one Salvatore leaves town, the other arrives.

Date: 2011-10-07 07:23 am (UTC)Other than Damon with Tanner in 1x3? hmmm, yeah maybe the others have been off-screen and just known about...
Stefan does suck at plans. Plus, he doesn't really know how to counter this threat and his heart can't possibly be all the way in it -- even though he's undoutedly bitter at Klaus on Elena's behalf, he doesn't have a personal distaste for Rebekah.
You know, even though Stefan doesn't want this to be personal, to have nothing to do with personal, I think Klaus did succeed in making it that way in 3x3 -- just by the way that Stefan is reacting to him in this episode. Stefan's cajoling Klaus in a different way than he was before and at the end when he wakes up.... the tone of that plea is not something we would see him direct at Logan Fell, John Gilbert, Mason, Jules, etc. Usually he gets all cold & stonewall-y. That's an open, vulnerable face he'd instinctively give someone to whom it would matter than he was desperate, scrambling, contrite.
heh, tragically for Klaus I think that if Stefan hadn't met Elena Gilbert he'd probably have succeeded completely in luring Stefan permanently back into the fold. "reformed" new lifestyle or not.

I agree. Stefan reacts differently to Klaus now than before he remembered. He's more emotional; like you said - he now treats Klaus like someone who matters. It's totally getting personal.

Date: 2011-10-07 06:28 pm (UTC)Another thing about that bite - Damon is Caroline's vampire parent, and he just bit Bill, her human parent. In-laws!
*grins* I bet family reunions are going to be so tense.
Stefan is enjoying himself with Klaus - nothing like having a fan, and you know, with Rebekah, this becomes another pack. Stefan does not plan well at ALL, but he does well as a beta. That is what Klaus is offering him. Complete acceptance and a place.
Now, with Damon, what he wants from Stefan is honesty. Own your issues, be aware of them, and do not do so much damage that Damon cannot go to a bar, have a drink and eat the patrons if he wants.
In other words, Klaus does not care about there being a meltdown or a great hunt - Damon knows what it is to be hunted down in his own TOWN, and so he started out knowing that there are times to be obvious, and others when it's best to fall back.
That is something that Klaus should learn - being that they are being hunted as well.

Yes, Klaus is in a place where he doesn't care that Stefan is a big flashing sign that says "VAMPIRES!!!!" while Damon likes discretion.

And I liked that in that scene where Damon bit Bill, he obviously savored the blood, rolled it over in his mouth and checked for vervain, but his CONTROL was so clear there. He can keep his head, stay on track, and snark all at the same time.
Stefan, you may have gotten Lexi's attention, but way too many of the lessons did not take. On the other hand, some of Katherine's have actually helped Damon - plus him being basically abandoned and working on things by himself.
Yeah, it makes me think less of Klaus. A party is all well and good, but sooner or later somebody will wise up, and then you have pissed off witches and batshit insane vampires ruining your ceremonies. OH WAIT. PLAINLY KLAUS HAS NOT LEARNED FROM THAT.
