I adore the atmosphere of this episode - the rain and how present it is in everything that happens. Love the teaming up of Damon-Elena-Alaric to save Stefan. Very strong, focused episode.

4. 2x13 - Daddy Issues

Loved this episode. Fast-paced but still full of character and relationship goodness, plus a great twist at the end.

3. 2x01 - The Return

Such a fantastic way for them to kick off the second season. This episode had everything and Damon snapping at the end never loses its punch for me when I rewatch it.

2. 1x14 - Fool Me Once

This episode really changes everything, in a way. It shifts the dynamics of Damon's relationships with Stefan and Elena and the twist of Katherine never being in the tomb has so much weight and does so much for the characters and the show.

1. 1x19 - Miss Mystic Falls

Just gorgeous and so well-done. Stefan is chilling and amazing; Damon and Elena have tension that sizzles; Caroline is made of love, and Damon and Elena practice tough love on Stefan.

Mmm, I love Miss Mystic Falls. Between the dancing and Damon and Elena being awesome and alpas in charge - I <3 it so.

And how dumb is it for Stefan and Elena to have a 'romantic weekend away' when there are murderous werewolves loose?

Yeah, I really hope that it's not as horribly misguided and stupid an impulse as the trailer is making it out to be.

My heart weeps from the stupid (why do Stefan and Elena get afflicted with the stupid in their relationship so much? This reminds me of their fake break-up plan).

I WORRY BECAUSE I KNOW OUR SHOW!

Stefan and Elena are good, but sometimes they are not GOOD TOGETHER.

Stefan and Elena seem like they would make much better friends (exes) than lovers. They could still have a strong bond, but they wouldn't be making each other stupid constantly. Not all love relationships make people into idiots!

(case in point, I watched Smallville tonight and Lois believes in Clark and he gets so much strength out of his relationship with her, and their relationship doesn't make either of them turn stupid)

Yes, I agree. Their relationships is a strong one but it often leads them to making really bad decisions. *sighs* Their denial isn't healthy at all, for them or anyone else.
