Wow.

That was an incredibly powerful movie about a very screwed-up girl.

Possibly the most disturbing part was how easy I found it to be to identify with Natalie Portman's Nina character.

Great effects that always served the mood and story; amazing acting from all parties involved.

Would love to read a really long fic where Nina survives her self-inflicted broken-glass stab wound and gets serious psychological help. But, wow, really well-done. Love how it explored the really fucked-up parts of the ballet world.

Leaves so many questions, too, which I liked. How much damage did Nina really do? (especially to anyone not herself) Did she really slam her mom's fingers in the door? Her mom was in the audience smiling (or was that part of her 'perfection fantasy'?). She didn't stab Lily (apart from seeing her later; people would have kicked up a fuss if she were missing), she stabbed herself instead. She probably did not either stab Beth at the hospital or even see Beth stab herself - did she really go to the hospital?

I want that as well! In fact, I want a lot of fic for this movie. It leaves things nicely open ended for fic writing, what with the reasonable doubt about who (if anyone) is injured or dying because it's so squarely from Nina's POV. Which changes from time to time.

Yes, exactly! I want more about Lily and her POV. I would like for someone to heal over the whole "women must always compete" vibe especially. My hope is that that aspect of Lily was all in Nina's head.
