I sometimes go to
fandomsecrets to find out what people are freaking out about (and since it takes time to process the secrets, I don't ever get spoiled there, which is nice).
This secret made me crack up:

It's funny for several reasons:
a) RTD loves the characters that he writes. He was singing the praises of Donna Noble far before the majority of fandom. Back when a lot of people dismissed her as a 'screamer' he was saying that just showed that they weren't paying attention and that he would make everyone love her. So, people loving Donna is actually part of RTD's plan. Otherwise, the plot twist doesn't hurt. Of course, he wanted people to love Donna and Ianto.
b) RTD is far too self-confident (or, if you like, arrogant) a writer to shoot himself in the foot that way. Seriously, people. Just because you'd be petty and insecure enough to pull that kind of shit doesn't mean that Russell is. He cares far more about his story than he does about the opinions of people on the internet.
c) The vast majority of fans and viewers adore Rose Tyler. Billie is generally beloved. The report from SDCC is that fans were chanting for David to name 'Rose' as his favorite companion. Now, I don't know if the general praise for Gwen is as high as it is Rose, but she's been one of my favorite character from the start, so, amusement at inaccurate generalizations.
d) The trailer for "End of Time". It cracks me up that a secret about the horrible fate of Donna pops up the same day we get the trailer for "End of Time" and *gasp* it has Donna in it. Seriously, I busted up laughing when I read this secret.
