What I Liked:

1. There's this brilliant moment, when Spock looks at Kirk like...

oh. Right. Stuff I liked about Smallville.

Let's try this again.

1. Tess lived. Yay. *waves tiny flag of Tess living* I've been totally *hearts and flowers* over Tess ever since she was first femslashy with Lois (in her fancy maid outfit). That she even called back to that moment in this episode was delightful. I liked finding out that she was talking about an entirely different civilization when she was talking to Clark and not being all melodramatic and whatnot. Yay for Tess and her awesome chemistry with every female character she meets on-screen.

2. Everything Clark did, ever. Seriously, ever since the badness of Power and Requiem, Clark has totally been stepping up. He came up with two really awesome plans to stop Doomsday... both foiled by his own friends/co-workers, unfortunately.

*sigh*

I loved that he needed to go off and spend days searching for Lois after the Doomsday event. I enjoyed his coldness toward Chloe because I am fucking done with that girl (see below in: dislikes). He's very S3 Doctor (Doctor Who) in not wanting to get attached to people after suffering a painful loss (the Doctor was so miserable after losing Rose. *pets him*).

3. The Lois/Clark phonecall. That was a beautiful moment.

4. Oliver began to redeem himself to me in this episode, when he finally trusted Clark. I think maybe he did to Clark, too.

5. Actually, I don't think I have a fifth. I could talk about Star Trek some more? I really loved that. Oh! I appreciated that Davis was the psycho serial killer that I've known he was since he first covered up his murders. Especially after we discovered in Eternal that he's been flying into murdering rages since he was a wee monster.

6. Oh! It was nice to see Rokk. I like him. I kinda wanted a scene with him and Lois. Maybe we'll get that next season, if she ended up in the future (he implied that it was pre-set for that, after all).

What Pissed Me Off:

1. Jimmy Olsen isn't Jimmy Olsen? Fuck you, Smallville.

2. Seriously, show, we're supposed to forgive Chloe for this? Because she 'did it all for Clark' and 'never stopped loving Jimmy'? Fuck you for that, too. I don't forgive her. If she had resisted her urge to be a martyr for Clark and had just let him send Davis to the Phantom Zone, Jimmy would still be alive. Oh, and Jimmy was fucking right about everything (as Clark mentioned in the episode), yet Chloe picked Davis' side time and again despite knowing that he was a killer. Even after he nearly killed Oliver and Jimmy!

Also, she is a shitty-ass cousin, something that was especially well-highlighted because of how concerned Lois was about her earlier in the episode.

Seriously, how there is supposed to be an ounce of sympathy or liking for her character after this? Chloe is selfish, delusional, a killer who can't admit it, and still driven by the desire to impress Clark. Fuck off, Chloe! Go admire the view that Jimmy bought you and maybe think about how it's your fault that his blood is all over the floor.

I'm so glad that I'm planning on seeing Star Trek again today (I know... fifth time). I need something thoroughly good to wash this bad taste out of my mouth.

I know. And then Lois is God knows where and she'll probably be mindwiped or something when she comes back (which sucks because Lois is awesome). I hate that the writers seem to expect the audience to forgive Chloe especially when they actually point out she was wrong.

It annoys me because everything started off so well. I've seen some people who are hopping mad but I'm not. I only started back watching the show in February (before that I hadn't seen it since 2002).

Ah, well. I read comics in the early nineties. If I can get through that, I can get through this.

Damn. I don't watch SV but I read spoilers and ep reviews, and while I can't get angry at Chloe, I'm certainly annoyed about her. Why do writers screw up the characters like this? I remember the Chloe-in-Lois' body episode and she was AWESOME in that one!

I'm going to see Trek again today too, and that shall be happy-making :) Only the second time for me though!
