I will have to pop back in with feedback once I've actually had a chance to watch the vid, but for now I just have to say: Ooh! You're vidding for Merlin! Yay! :D

Back as promised!

It was absolutely lovely. It's about time there was a really good Uther vid for this fandom. I often don't have enough sympathy for him, but I love the way you pull the backstory to the forefront in this, and it works for me. Thanks for yet another wonderful vid!

Thank you so much. I find Uther interesting because he's really the reason that the kingdom is so fucked up and everyone seems to agree that it would be better if he weren't around (as far as magic is concerned), but he does care for his people and his son. He's got that complexity. I'm so glad that the vid worked for you!

Wow. I love the focus on Uther. I think it's the first vid of Uther. There's a deeper backstory that we don't get the full explaination of in the show. Obviously we can assume from the legends, but this vid explores something that has been given little time in the source. The simmering and barely contained emotions really come forward with the languid editing that takes the time to get deep into the character and clips.

I adore the drumbeat at :11, the woman vanishing on the ting at :45, the way the ball floats over Nimueh's eye around 1:07, the gaunlet hitting at 1:08, the excellent use of the music with Merlin letting the goblet go at 1:18, the way the man is pushed down and Arthur's eyes come up on beat at 2:10, and Uther's hand coming down on 2:15.

Thanks. It was interesting to get down and feel through Uther's side of things.

Thank you so much for pointing out specific moments you enjoyed. It was fun finding all those moments and making them work with the music.

I hope you don't mind

Yay another Uther vid! :D

I especially like the way you segue into his aloneness at the end, after showing his relationships with Arthur & Morgana.

I just got around to watching this after downloading it ages ago. I have very little sympathy for Uther on the show (much as I love Anthony Stewart Head and the way he plays him), but I loved this insight into him, its hints at the longer story that underlies what he has made of Camelot, the consequences his actions have had and will have. The images flow beautifully to the music.

I love how the beginning goes short, long, short, long; the music and images flowing together.
I love how the music becomes louder as Merlin rushes in to drink the cup.
It was very interesting to see an Uther vid.
Thank you, was beautiful. :)
