So, I've been thinking about something that's on the Doctor Who website.

To quote, "On the planet Messaline, in the middle of an endless war, the Doctor meets the most important woman of his life."

It made me flash back to a line from "Father's Day". When Rose is starting to get really angry at the Doctor for being upset that she saved Pete, she shoots this line at him: "No, I get it! For once, you're not the most important man in my life."

"The Doctor's Daughter" versus "Father's Day".

I may have further thoughts on this later, but it was something that really stood out to me when I saw it.

Will TDD be as heartbreaking as FD?

I've decided that this is a No-Heartbreak zone. Thus, there shall be nothing sad or heart-wrenching in this episode.

That would be nice! I would like there to be no heartbreak. At least Paul Cornell isn't writing it, as he's torn my heart out of my chest with both of his stories.

Messaline, eh? Gotta say the history of Messalina makes that a rather ominous choice of planet names.

They like sinister names beginning with M, don't they? The planet in Utopia was very similar - Melcassario, or something like that. And then there's Medusa, of course.

I thought "Shakespeare" when I saw "Messaline", and I finally tracked it down. It's a place name in Twelfth Night, but it doesn't seem to be described except as someplace various characters are from.

The "most important woman of his life" thing makes me worry, because I can't see anything good coming out of this episode for the Doctor. Meep.

Twelfth Night, eh?

"Journey's end and lovers meeting." Works for me.

(It was also used very romantically, and brilliantly at the end of the movie, "Shakespeare in Love")

I really really think this isn't going to end well. It'll start out happy but quickly become something darker and sader. :(
