Further thoughts on 'Gone'
Sep. 27th, 2001 10:04 pmThe video fit the song perfectly. The song is set after the fact - she's gone. It's not about her leaving, it's about missing her and wishing that you had her back. So, I thought it was appropriate that we never see her leave.
And the black and white just... I doubt it would be half as effective in color. And the difference between the silent film sepia and then the artistic B&W was striking and moving.
Have I mentioned that I adore the fact that Justin's transparent at the end? I do. It's like he's fading away against the memories that he has.
Classy, beautiful and sexy. What more could a girl want?
And I love The Girl. She reminds me of Emmanuelle Chriqui. Only with curlier hair. And yeah. Whatever.
