Pop Tart
Everyone likes her. The buzz on the movie sounds good. Her album, while not wildly successful, is certainly not a flop. People know who she is and respect her.
And she didn't have to drop to her knees to get any of it.
That, Mandy is certain, is part of her appeal. That wholesome quality that tells everyone that she would never stoop to using her body to get what she wants.
Even though she does, of course. Oh, not on the level that the other girls do, but she isn't wholly innocent. If she were, she would be vulnerable.
As it is, she knows just enough about the music biz to stay out of most of the traps.
The only way to be noticed is to be different. Britney became popular by marketing virgin sex, Mandy wants to be popular because she's good.
And everyone knows that heavy drinking can be bad for the voice. Smoking, another of Britney's hidden vices, also ruins your singing. Not that the girl cares, of course. As far as Mandy can see, Britney seems content.
Britney's an idiot.
Because no one will know Britney's name in a hundred years. Mandy, she's determined to make a mark. Make a difference.
And she'll do it. On her own terms, without a boyfriend propping her up or a mom pushing her.
Because this is her dream.
