butterfly: (Never Alone -- Daniel/Jack)

I was grinning for so much of The Pegasus Project. Daniel was in Atlantis. Actually in Atlantis. I was so thrilled for him. And then he got the bummer of finding out that the Ancients were going to continue to not help, but he got to give a smashing, passionate speech and be so very much Daniel and I adored him.

Loved Vala and her directness and supportiveness. Adored Cameron's wake-up of Daniel. Found myself shipping Carter and McKay whenever they had a scene together. Teal'c kicked ass in his final scene -- yay for luring ships to their doom.

Very enjoyable, really.

It was so cute! How much effort did Sheppard have to go to to set up that joke? It's not like they have lemon... groves lying around Atlantis. He may even have snagged it from the arriving ship just so that he could tease Rodney over it (and it was clearly teasing! Rodney was in on the joke.).

My favorite part of the whole episode was Daniel being Daniel and getting to bitch out an Ascended, even though it was an Ascended who mostly didn't deserve it. I'm sure the others heard him, though, since they seemed to snatch her out just in time. I also really enjoyed Vala, especially her telling Daniel she understood why he didn't get along with them.

I found myself completely unable to follow whatever they were going to do to tie up the supergate and just went with it, as I tend to end up doing with most so-called science on the show (and science was never my subject, either). I just liked that they were able to take out a Wraith and an Orii ship in the process. That was pretty cool.

I loved Daniel in this. He was lovely and wonderful and I was so happy that he finally reached Atlantis! Even if the Ancients aren't all he hoped for, he did get that moment. And Vala was really well-done in this episode.

I think that I may understand the supergate subplot. They hooked it up to a stargate near a black hole so that it would stay open (and thus unusable) for a very long time (relatively-speaking, because time slows way down as you near a black hole). But because the supergate is enormous, they had to hook up a normal-sized connection first and then force the connection to the larger gate via the explosions.

The big *whoosh* taking out the Orii ship was mega-cool, I agree. Yay for Teal'c! That was his one thing of the episode.
