I have a question about feedback.

Would you, as an author, rather...

a) receive simple 'I liked it' feedback
or
b) receive complex 'I liked it' feedback with all punctuation and grammar errors pointed out.
or
c) other, specify other.

c) a mix of both. I, um. often use punctuation in a way that's wrong for, like, story-purposes. like, pacing and stuff. or deep breaths of nervous fluttery air that I don't want to describe. if someone sees a spelling error or, like, a really bad grammatical error (allude/elude and whatnot -- since I do that a lot. "alot") or, heck, even a bad story detail, I actually appreciate the help. I self-edit, so, like. my stories can be a mess. and yes. a little bit of both.

Mmmhmm. I get manipulating the language for effect. That's always cool.

Thanks for your response.

I'll pick C.

If you liked something I wrote, I'd like to know *what* caught your attention.

If you see a major grammatical/technical error, I'd like to know about it, too.

I dunno .. I guess I'd just like to know that the stuff I write is being read. So, any kind of feedback works for me.

Specifics in what I like. That's generally what I have the hardest time expressing.

*Note to self: Work on that*

Thanks for the input.

C.

I like the basic 'I like it' message with maybe a little bit of why they liked it.

Love ya

Why seems to be a big thing that people like to hear. That's good to know and totally understandable.

Thank you for responding to my question.

I'm with everyone else so far... c.

I like getting one-line feedback, because that means people read my story. That alone makes me happy.

I like complicated feedback because I appreciate people took the time to go through it, read it carefully, and (hopefully) enjoy it. I love that.

But in the end, ANY feedback makes me a happy Colleen.

I love any feedback.. detailed it great, but if it's "I liked it" or nothing, I'd take "I liked it" any day.

If the errors are spelling or obvious grammar errors, then sure! I'd love the help. I use multiple betas, but something always slips through. (Though my style of writing often purposely breaks grammar rules, and on those things I might get annoyed about "corrections"... but it's really obvious what is a mistake and what is a style choice. so. yeah. *g* )

You're the first recipent of my new feedback style. I'd really... um... appreciate feedback on my feedback?

Also? Overall? I love your stuff.
