butterfly: (Dean -- Supernatural)

I have thoughts on Smallville, honest, but I'll have to talk about them tomorrow or Saturday or something.

Because Supernatural was like a fucking freight train of OhmygodYES to my heart.

First off -- I called the spinal cord cut. My roommate was attempting to be in denial of Sam's deadness and I wanted to be, too, but I rewatched and was all... 'dude, his legs just drop out from under him. Super-strength Jake probably cut his spinal cord.' And I was right! Woo!

That's an insanely stupid thing to be thrilled over, but Jake said it after Sam was already back, so... that maybe makes me slightly less psycho.

I really... I'm not sure I have the words for how happy Supernatural makes me. The Sam and Dean connection, the spooky fun supernatural stuff, and the cool music and references -- I just adore the whole package. There are two shows that are tearing me up this year -- Supernatural and Doctor Who -- but Supernatural is the one of the two that I stayed totally spoiler-free on. And that's because, I think, I trust it not to completely break me. Sam and Dean are the show. It couldn't survive without both of them. There's a measure of safety in that that allows me to throw myself into the agony because I know that it'll get better (whereas while I hope that the Doctor learns to live with the pain of losing Rose, I doubt that we'll ever see him as happy as he was in S2. And, so, I feel the need to spoil myself and thoroughly check all upcoming episodes for their possible heartbreak factor).

God, the ending was amazing. Sam, dedicating himself to saving his brother, and the two of them setting off again, like they did at the end of the pilot -- two brothers against the world.

So! Much! Love!

My love is impossible to contain.

I really should try to get to sleep, as I have work tomorrow, but I'm finding it intensely hard. Because all I really want to do is think about Supernatural and glee over the ending (and the beginning and the middle -- and Dean just going for that demon tongue to bring back his brother, aw!).

Just... wow, that was a whole lot of satisfying.

And there'll be more next year! Yay!

This is such a great show. I'm so glad that I was pimped into it last summer.

And John! I have such a love/hate relationship with John -- I think that he did the best that he could and that he loved his boys with everything in him... but he's also the reason that they're so screwed up in the head (especially Dean). But I always loved seeing him and was so glad to see him come save his boy tonight.

I miss John so much, I really do. I know when he gave his soul up for Dean he thought he was doing the right thing the only way he knew how but...sometimes I wonder. I'm glad Dean's still around but..it's just so hard for them to go it alone. And Dean making the ONE year deal with the demon? So unbelievably stupid but understandable. He can't go it alone..he just can't do it. And that's one thing that makes me love him.
