Could someone explain to me why I adore the idea of Kevin/Rod but not Lance/Joey?

Because it makes me all kinds of confused. Because. Kevin/Rod is hot. Very. But I'm very much Not At All About The JoLa.

ETA I thought about this because I just made two Kevin/Rod icons. So, I got to thinking.

It's because Joey is Straight in my head. He has a daughter. And he's known the mom forever. And he's Joey.

And Rod is childless. And he doesn't have a long-term relationship. And he wrote a love song for his best friend.

The only Joey slash that I can read, really, is JoeC. And even then, it's just because they were so very slashy at the concerts that I went to and that other people have gone to. And even with them, I don't seek it out.

I cannot explain it to you, but I, too, have a problem with the slashy JoLa. And it is Joey for me; something in my brain will not slash him. Just. No.

Though, oddly enough, he's not part of the hardest couple. That's Justin/JC, which gives me the shivers.

Oh, it makes perfect sense to me! RPS is totally separate from FPS. Just because you don't like Joey/Lance in the nslash fandom, doesn't mean that you won't like Rod/Kevin in the On The Line fandom. The actors have nothing to do with the characters, really. They just look physically similar.

I think that some of my confusion comes from reading a lot of reviews and things were people were all "they're just playing themselves" and if they were, then it wouldn't make as much sense.

Or possibly it's very early and my thoughts are all swishy in my head.
