Date: 2006-12-19 05:10 pm (UTC)The giddy joy was the primary motivation for making the vid, I must admit. I wanted something cheery and bouncy and happy for this Doctor and Rose.
It was a lot of fun to make! Although, I must say, Ten has no idea how to shut up. I had to slow down almost every close-up shot of him in the vid, because he'd start talking (mind you, part of the reason I love his relationship with Rose is because they have good conversations, but it's harder to appreciate that when I'm trying to vid him).
Glad that the vid worked for you, accents and fireworks and all! Yay!

Date: 2006-12-17 07:21 pm (UTC)Loved how you used the additive blends. They fit the energy and there's even a few of them that are used subtly (which is quite hard in my opinion). And the one at 1:14 (combined with zooming in) felt realy unique to me.
While I still have that huge grin on my face from the vid, mind if I friend you? Don't wanna miss your vids and so far I've also seen some more entrys I want to read. :)

Additive dissolves aren't known for their subtlety. I'm really glad that you liked them -- they really fit the bouncy feel of the song for me.

I'm flattered and don't mind in the least. Meeting new people is one of the best things about lj.

Date: 2006-12-18 01:21 am (UTC)This is just one gigantic bouncing joyous ball of shipper love! My god, there's a huge smile on my face and it's not going away. It's so nice to see them just be a normal couple for once without the big heart-rending stuff thrown in - and of course they are a very normal couple at the heart of it, a fun-loving adventurous couple who are very well suited to each other, and that's the message that I took away with me from this vid. The editing is superb, as usual, but to me it's all about the great big love over the technical side of things. Super fun!
Also been meaning to tell you am loving your vids on the bascon DVDs. Don't know either fandom but your brilliant editing is quite enough to be getting on with in itself. ;)

The huge bouncing ball of shipper love was definitely the primary motivation for making the vid. I adore them so very much and wanted to capture them at their best.

They are! They really, really are! I just... I'm going to digress here for a second, but there's a story that made the rec rounds a while back that was about the Doctor leaving his TARDIS and traveling life to settle down with Rose (and being, in the end, very unhappy) and I remember thinking, "Well, I can just about buy the Doctor doing that if Rose wanted it that much (if I stretch)... however, I can't imagine Rose ever asking him to." Because she loves the life, too. She loves him and she loves travelling with him. It's fun and dangerous and the way they enjoy it together makes it all worth it.

Aw, thank you! That's lovely to read. Yay!

Date: 2006-12-19 05:23 pm (UTC)And, yes, I miss Rose so much. I really adored her, right from the first episode, and I fell a bit more in love with her than the Doctor.
I wonder how Martha will differ from Rose?
The question of the day. I am curious, but I don't want to try to get my hopes up about any particular desire (except that they not try to copy Rose's relationship with the Doctor!).

Date: 2007-01-19 03:22 am (UTC)The Doctor and Rose seem to enjoy each other, and while the song and the matching clips do mention difficulty in articulating feelings, this difficulty isn't really emphasized -- it's there, but as soon as it's mentioned the characters are moving on to other things.
That really is my favorite thing about them -- they're having fun with each other, enjoying each other every moment that they get to spend together. It's so rare to have a friendship/relationship on television that isn't crazy with the angst and miscommunication -- the Doctor and Rose are just so refreshing to me.
They're not just wrapped up in each other but in what they're doing -- I loved how that line "the impossible occurs each day" worked at a dual level, referring both to the relationship and to the adventures in time and space. Great vid! It made my morning.
I'm so glad that that line worked for you! I loved putting it right there, with them together but also facing the black hole on the impossible planet. Yay! Thanks again for the wonderful comment.

You're the best thing about me
That's them, alright, and you bring it out. I also like the interleaved hugs in the slower section at around 2:10. Neat. And as someone else said, the fireworks -- perfect timing, and what a nice touch. The final scene, too, is a good ending.
I was just rewatching some of your vids the other day, and you've got a nice, distinctive style. I like your use of color highlights, transitions, and, oh, I don't know what to call it -- where you have a short scene, particularly if they're zooming in or out where you cut a little bit from it and make it jump. You do all of these well, and in a way that says, "you're watching a butterfly vid."

Date: 2007-01-19 03:26 am (UTC)Thank you. This vid was a bit of a relief to make, in some ways. The song is bouncy and light and fun, but also has more depth than it appears to at first glance. Very enjoyable to work with.

Wow. That is so cool to read. I have my own style! Thank you so much for this comment -- made me a little choked up, to tell the truth. Very nice to hear.
