I really liked this. It reminded me of how heroic, youthful, and joyful Rose is. Recently, I'd been thinking more about The Doctor, what with the switch to the Tenth. But this really brought my focus back to Rose, who is such a wonderful companion.

(It's sad that my only Rose icon doesn't really fit the mood of this post. But I'll use it anyway.)

I loved this. I only caught the first third of the series and now I wish I'd followed it more closely. You really capture Rose's abiity to light up her world and the people around her and exploit the energy and brio of the song to great effect. Fantastic!

If you get another chance to watch the series, I'd recommend it. I really loved the first series, especially the character of Rose.

She's a lovely character, and RTD does the same thing with her that Joss does with his characters -- her greatest strength (heart and loyalty, in her case) runs hand-in-hand with her greatest weakness.

I really liked this, particularly the choice of song. It played with self-referentially with Rose's role in the series without being the cliche 'happy pop song to horrible things happening on screen' cliche (or the even more cliche 'angsty Sarah McLachlan song as significant looks are exchanged on screen'.

I've always loved this song, the winking and nudging aspect of it seemed to fit so well with how Rose can come across and her youth and her smile.

Also, I find the Sarah McLachlan part of your comment to be a little bit amusing (not in a bad way) because, well, I've done that (http://butterfly.livejournal.com/1091282.html). If it's cliche and angsty with significant looks, I do not know, but it's definitely Sarah McLachlan.
