Buffy's Big Bad

Just putting down my thoughts so far. It's Big. It's Bad. But it's not all-powerful. Thus far, it seems to have definite limits.
1. We have only seen it take the appearance of people who have died (though some have been undead or resurrected, all have died).
2. We have never seen it appear to more than one person at the same time. Which may indicate that it isn't really there at all but is only in the mind of the person it's speaking to. Warren was seen by both Jonathan and Andrew, but they didn't see him at the same time. When Andrew saw him, Jon didn't, and he was behind Andrew when Jonathan saw him.
3. We have no confirmation that it can act in the physical realm. Which is why I think that the thing that Dawn saw was not Morphy. It uses Spike to act in the material realm, as well as Andrew.
Other thoughts:
1. It may be controlling when vampires are rising. All the vamps rising together in the basement. Holden said that Spike sired him "two nights ago". Holden also mentioned being connected to a big evil that was planning to suck the world into a fiery oblivion.
2. Under the theory that it can only influence people, was that how it got the Joyce-thing to happen? It only does three definite material things in that scene: the exploding microwave, the strong wind and cutting Dawn on the cheek. Everything else could be illusion or only in Dawn's mind ("Mother's milk", the axe, the moving furniture that moves right back). So, what could cause those things? Was it all just a set-up?
3. Is it behind the knife deaths? Probably. Also, best guess is that the chicks are Slayers-in-training (Giles, the other dude, all those weapons), which makes one wonder if they plan to go after the current Slayer-in-jail.
4. Why is it picking on these people? Or, is it doing this to many people and these are just the ones we see?
5. Is it involved in the LA thing? Probably not.
edit: Some things added after talking to sinister_beauty below. She does allude to spoilery stuff in her post.

Date: 2002-11-25 08:51 pm (UTC)Your ideas are very good, well thought out. Nice work, my dear.
I think those girls who are being killed are slayers in training. It makes the most sense considering the ending of the last epp, "Sleeper."
Anyhow, that's what I think.

Should possibly add this to the list thing.
