Magic addiction:

Just realized that part of the reason why I had no problem with the 'magic addition' storyline in Buffy season six is 'cause I'm used to magic being addictive in Wheel of Time. (And I don't care that they take forever to come out and are the most complicated things ever, they are my favorite non-humorous fantasy series ever. I like all of the main characters and read every section when I reread them.)

Realized this when I was reading the Guide to WoT that I gave my dad on his birthday. Hadn't gotten a chance to look at it until now since it was at my dad's house and I... wasn't. Not for long enough at least.

Now I want to read the series over again.

And in a due South vein: Lanfear = Victoria

Bought myself the 8 Mile and Two Towers soundtracks with a Best Buy gift certificate my aunt gave me.

My dad gave me the next two sets of Andromeda DVDs! Up to Harper 2.0, which remains one of my favorite eps ever.

Hmmm... As someone violent opposed to that story line, I'd like to point out that my problem is not that magic *is* addictive, but that they fucking beat me over the damn head with the metaphor. Or something.

They did get a tetch heavy-handed. But apparently AH wanted to make sure that people would be able to forgive Willow, so it had to be mostly about the magic. So, both the writers and the actor's fault on the that front.
