How do I express my love?

I really hope that they don't drop the bar too terribly much. I hope that they keep amazing us. Because if they write it, the actors will deliver. Tom Welling was a joy and a delight last night.

Lex's layers were also fascinating to watch. He can both be Concerned for his friends and Intrigued by said friend's secrets. And after Clark threw the fact of those secrets up in Lex's face in Rush, it makes sense that he's starting to look into it again. He's been passive for a while, but now that he has both a) a rekindled interest in figuring out Clark's secrets and b) proof that he can, in fact, win (Prodigal), I'm glad that he'd taking a more active role. He isn't just going to sit around being love's bitch. Good for him.

And now that I've seen this episode, it's making me think about Fever and the Clark/Lex timeline. Prodigal works for me as a... temporary moment of closeness in their current odd push-pull distance. Lex throws his new 'brother' in Clark's face. Clark acts like a jealous girlfriend, Lex and Clark go "la di da" for a little while. Then we get an episode where we both a) never see the two interact while b) getting on-screen confirmation of the fact that they did interact. It's almost as if the two episodes before Rosetta set up the duel Lex we see in this episode.

I really do want to smack Lana. I mean, it's a horrible shame that her parents died. It is. Nevertheless, that does not give her a license to be a self-centered princess who never has to pay or ever apologize for her mistakes. Of course, if they have Clark realize that she's a self-centered princess and like her less for that, I'd be willing to forgive M&G.
